Am I doing Kriya right?

In my understanding, you can have legit awakenings without any of the energy stuff. Using the energy of the kundalini is like strapping a rocket engine to your car. You can also arrive without the engine, but it takes longer. Also using rocket engines is more dangerous.

I met someone like this online recently. for me it was simply not going to happen that way I tried. the rocket engine is more dangerous for sure.
maybe if i gave up normal life and did self inquiry all day something would happen

being autistic might make self inquiry more effective

@Oppositionless

i'm  not sure if I understand you correctly. Do you have problems sensing the energy that I'm talking about?

What do you need to understand Is that Kriya yoga is a a system that is designed for highly sensitive people.

The more sensitive you are genetically, the easier Kriya yoga will be for you.

If you are zero sensitive, then Kiya yoga will seem like a scam for you.

This doesn't mean that transcendence is not accessible to you though. It just means that you have to take your resonance profile into account.

if you're on the autistic side, it will be easier for you to reach transcendence through observing cosmic patterns, and understanding.

If you are more on the Neurotypical side, it will be easier for you to find transcendence through community and identity.

If you are none of those things, then it will be easiest for you to realize emptiness through nirvana in my understanding.

Can I watch movies while doing pranayama? Do I need to be actively there?

@ExploringReality All I do is pranayama, up the spine, from ass to crown. That's it. The more the better. I try to do 1-2hrs per day, broken up into 30min blocks.

I find 20 mins, of pranayama very effective, although I havent gone past the third eye, but I feel extreamly strong expanding sensations within my third eye after 1 month practice, it actually quite overwhelming that I had to dial back a little bit so I dont practice that everyday, although my ideal is going to be everyday practice.

Yes you need to be, the whole point is putting attention on spine during breathing up and down.

How long should you be doing pranayama for each day to achieve any results? When can you expect to notice a change in consciousness?

1-2hrs per day.

It's hard to say because everyone is so different.

6 months is a good trial period. You should start to feel changes in your head within that time if you are practicing consistently. Could be much sooner. But you should make at least a 6 month commitment.

@Leo Gura I always wondered this, but sometimes I don't know if I want to dive that deep into spirituality, god consciousness and all that, but all the benefits of kriya yoga seem appealing to me.

Does it make sense to pursue kriya yoga if you're not actually looking to find god and stuff? I know the very definition of that, is to find god, or union, and I think you said earlier that the goal of kriya yoga is that, but I do recall all the other benefits you mentioned in the past. Practically speaking, if one does it for 6 months they'd know if its the right path for them and whether to continue or not? Maybe thats what gets you to desire deeper spirituality when you experience it for yourself? Just wondering if you had any thoughts on this. I'm still quite business and practical life oriented at the moment.

@Jayson G With that attitude you will not be serious enough to stick with Kriya yoga. Yoga requires seriousness and commitment, not this luke-warm thing you are doing.

Kriya yoga will transform your life. But if you can't appreciate that, don't do it.

@Leo Gura I think there's miscommunication because it's not that I'm not serious. I've been seriously considering to do it for years. What I was referring to was the deep spirituality it brings you into which scares me off. But for the other benefits you mentioned in the past which I've seen are life transforming, that's what draws me to it seriously, which is why I've been wanting to do it for years.

To me this is unserious.

You want to take a serious practice intended to generate Moksha and use it for some kind of shallow self-improvement.
