I haven't read it yet, but from what I understand this book is one of Ralston's more advanced works. So, yes, probably best to start with Not Knowing first and let that jell a bit.

He says that a method will not do it. He emphasizes that you must do it, directly. So in that way he also denies Yoga for example, or any other set of practices. But he also says practices help but it's not enough for the final leap.

So where is the disagreement? You also say that psychedelics aren't enough, that any fool who does psychedelics might not get those insights, and that it took way more work than just taking psychedelics, that contemplation played a big part in your understanding on top of psychedelics. So, in the end, you did it, not psychedelics, didn't you?

But you will say to this that you'd never have been able to underatand all these without psychedelics. So yeah, idk.

Does that just mean that the insights are on the level of Being and not intellect and concepts? 

I just don't get it why he dismisses psychedelics (or any other method) so much.

No, he means that there is literally no method to enlightenment.

No method can produce what he says, expect of course for his books, workshops, and contemplation.

But if you suggest anything other than his methods, they are all impossible.

If everything is Consciousness, why/how would a physical chemical pill outwitt "Consciousness Will" to make one enlightened? 

I agree that psychedelics can open up your skull - but why would it "produce" enlightenment if only Absolute Consciousness can become conscious of itself whenever it wants? 

Absolute Consciousness is everything, even the DMT pill - why would Consciousness place so much power onto a pill?

Genuine questions, don't get me wrong.
