I wonder if the US is really run by only the Trump administration. I mean like would the US really hand the reigns to country's power to only a small bunch of people that got elected by the mob? If we lay out the details, the US is picking apart China's allies one by one. They got Maduro out of the picture and surrounded Cuba. Now they attacked Iran and if they take Kharg Island, China will lose 20% of its oil import in the foreseeable future.  This could skyrocket their manufacturing costs.

Regarding the strait of Hormuz, it is possible that the US actually wants to shut down the strait intentionally so its own oil exports can replace the exports from the Middle East. However they can't tell the world this is actually what they want, because the US's allies would totally be pissed off as this heavily impacts their economy (like South Korea, Japan, and many other countries). So the talks here basically is only to calm the markets while the US prepares for more precision strikes or even ground troops into Iran. They'll blow Iran up into a state of civil war between its internal factions, that will shut the strait of Hormuz for sure. Meanwhile causing the oil price to skyrocket, which not only benefits the US, but is also a gift to Russia. Russia and Ukraine actually want out of the Ukrainian war but Russia lacks the step down. The US is giving Putin the step down by allowing them to replenish their chest from the rising oil cost for the near future along with possibly other incentives. You can see now that Putin has agreed to a ceasefire and another peace talk with Zelensky, if the US can bring Zelensky to the table which they probably will (US can decide to withdraw all remaining support if Zelensky decides not to enter the talk). Bessent most likely wants to end the Ukraine war so the US can continue with the Iranian war, the US would most likely disguise this as supporting Israel and Saudi Arabia to destroy the evil Iran. Eventually the US will get enough cards to force China to buy more US treasuries.

U.S. has already withdrawn essentially all support for Ukraine since trump took office. 400 million a year, compared to 1 billion dollars a day in Iran, if you think that's anything.

And China is the top five oil producing country of the world. They just import from Iran because it's dirt cheap and China is growing so rapidly.

The U.S. is the second largest oil importer in the world.
