What don't you understand, when gas goes to $7, countries will pipeline and everything else, oil from.iran and Caspian sea. 4$ is unsustainable. It will be like cocaine trafficking, countries would collapse with $7 gas, they're not going to do nothing, China would go to war with u.s. over that, let alone finance more pipelines.

This is like saying the u.s. can endure a great depression(what would happen) while Iran cannot sustain a recession, a self-sustained ideological hermit country.

Iran's economy is already bricked due to the sanctions. Their main source of survival was the oil, through exports (as income), and for sufficient government control and management of the land. Trump probably sees this as their last lifeline. If he cuts it off, then it's over, checkmate. The life quality will degrade significantly for the average Iranian. And the regime may still function for some time, but that will eventually lead to internal problems and instability. I think Trump is counting on this.
