Is D&D a good hobby for Actualized standards?

13 posts in this topic

I'm about to get into it. It has a lot of things my personality would enjoy like fantasy elements, extensive creativity, socialization, acting, etc.

Good hobby? Or should I get something more focused on skill building

Why would you have to probe whether or not it's a good hobby here? If you enjoy it then go for it.

I would say everything that you truly enjoy is worth pursuing as long as it not gets addictive or damaging. Cultivate your love for life in your unique way.

The mindset that everyting that you do should be furthering your self-development or have some utilitarian benefit can be a huge trap of personal-development.

It's entertainment, so do whatever you enjoy. Entertainment is not supposed to develop you.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

Overstimulation depletes your dopamine levels. You will be more happy sitting alone in the room than playing games.

It's certainly a lot better than drinking smoking weed and doing drugs.

Simple solution:

Drink, smoke weed AND THEN play D&D

Here are smart words that present my apparent identity but don't mean anything. At all.

From that perspective killing a few people on the block is not that bad as killing one million.

This feels like walking into dangerous territory.

Ignore what you're drawn towards. I know what will truly make you happy, what you actually need.

There's a time when sitting in a room alone would've been a miserable waste of time for me. Timing is important.
