@Leo Gura, the level of your cognitive development will affect your awakenings and how you understand them, right?

It seems that people who are unaware of their cognitive development don't see how much they are limiting their awakenings.

Yes!

People have no clue how much depth and richness to God they are missing. The depth is staggering. The depth is not described by any spiritual teacher or teaching.

Shallow levels of Awakening are very easy. Deep levels require decades of cognitive work.

@Leo Gura, back then, I couldn't make sense how a Christian or any religious person could have an awakening.

I have been treating the cognitive dimension as a given, which made me assume that people at a very low cognitive level could not have an awakening, because their explanations weren't as deep and direct as your explanation, which is not to say that they know what they are talking about or actually have had awakenings.

The self-limitation is astounding!

This is really mind opening and is giving me goosebumps.

@Hello1 If we define awakening as becoming conscious of the nature of one's 'true' self and/or existence, then it is already accesible to anyone. It's a possibility that is not subject to intellectual prowess or any other relative consideration - because it isn't elsewhere. It is already the truth of your nature, right now, whatever that may be. The only requirement is grasping this nature in a direct fashion.

It's likely that we often hold these concepts idealistically, believing they require a specific way of "being" or living.

For example, Eckhart Tolle reportedly had an insight or breakthrough of some kind while going through a depressive phase of his life, if I recall. We might believe that states such as relaxation, happiness, or being in love help when it comes to becoming conscious, but they are simply experiences. You can have an enlightenment while distracted, bored, or apathetic. Metaphorically, we could say that the truth doesn't care what state you're in.

Anyone who's mentally retarded could be fully awake. It's a matter of aligned energy. The problem is if you're not awake and you want to be because you've heard about it, as is usually the case. Then you have to be quite intelligent to understand how you're closing the door. You don't need to be an expert in anything, but you do need to be astute enough to see through the ego's deceptions.

@Leo Gura  and do you think this kind of work (on my cognitive development) is also worth pursuing if Im not among the most intelligent people?

Because it sounds interesting and worthwhile and I do enjoy hearing about it in your videos but is it for everyone? I mean I am not unintelligent, I'm just not one of those nerds... So does it even make sense to have it among my aspirations?

I would say my personality type is such that thinking about facts bores and hurts me 😀 (But again I'm not terrible at it)

Of course they can!

A dog can have an Awakening tripping on shrooms.

If you enjoy it then it is worth pursuing.

Nothing I teach is so technically difficult that you guys can't get it. High school classes were harder than what I teach.

The difficulty of it comes simply from requiring such radical openmindedness and reliquishing your biases and beliefs.

I consider myself stupid too in those academic areas and stupid compared to people around here and specially to Leo.

Part of feeling stupid for me is not being able to write and think clearly without some confusion. But I know I'm intelligent in other ways like intuition, observation, connection.

I had mystical experiences on psychedelics so it's possible, but I don't know about the advanced types of understanding that Leo talks about. For example, once he said something like 'Are you intelligent enough to understand that you are God or reach Alien Consciousness' that made me a little worried...

At least the dog can take it without talking nonsense about psychedelics. :D

Stupid in the sense that somebody doesn’t know anything ala Forest Gump is actually a good thing for both success and spirituality.

Being stupid in the sense of knowing everything but wrongly is bad. It ruins the bandwidth of the psyche.

To be a fool in the good sense like Forest Gump is actually the path of not knowing and the psyche’s doorway for transformation.

@Leo Gura, when you say that anyone can have an awakening on psychedelics, do you mean that they can have an awakening experience of themselves being God, independent of their cognitive development?

Yes.

However, low development means it will easily get misinterpreted as some belief system or bias one holds, like a Christian seeing Jesus.

Low dev minds tend to have many conformist beliefs which will cloud the psychedelic experience.

Are you intelligent enough to drop all your beliefs? If you are, then you are smart enough for this work.

If you're like Forrest, you're usually not a pure-hearted person who loves unconditionally unless you're incredibly lucky. Typically, you'll struggle to understand your impulses, be exploited and humiliated, and end up filled with confusion and pain.

Gump is a cartoon character. People like that don't exist.

Gotta drop the belief in psychedelics as a means to increased consciousness, too.

Obviously Forrest Gump is a character but I know people like that that have some of that innocence/foolishness/low IQ and they are doing very well. Some business people as well as they don’t overthink and they just do what they need to do which makes up for things. While the smart guy just sits there overthinks, thinks he achieved some great milestones by thinking, getting insights and doesn’t do anything.

All people are born with that innocence and pure heartedness. And most people lose that because of betrayal and suffering. But some people actually manage to maintain that seed of God consciousness. And you can see it in theirs eyes. The eyes never lie.
