Leo do you still stand by this ?

I don't think there is any problem with "living all possible lives for infinity" if you focus on the possibility of your crush loving you just as you love him/her instead of him/her not liking you .

What you care about is you don't want to experience the suffering of some possible lives .you really don't wanna eat glass or swallow nails or have an itch inside your skull or get freezing inside some ocean till death  or spend 5 billion years in some hell realm..you reeeeally don't "wannu" OK?😂

Two things here :

If reality is literally "absolutely infinite " then we are fucked . You know the implications.

The only thing that is going to save our assess is if reality is not "absolutely infinite " which is just not possible.

So I guess yeah we are fucked .

Sorry I tried my best to dance around it ..even for my own benefit since whoever is reading this now is also me .

I do not see why Leo wouldn't?

The reason it might seem like some form of hell to endure is simply because we have a stupid view of time :)

@Leo Gura Curt Jaimungal has "cornered" (let me) you about interesting paradoxes of infinity..like if we have Infinity of infinities or the set of all sets or absolute infinity then it must have the possibility of "there is nothing that has ever existed or will ever exist" . You usually don't give a satisfying answer to this specific question. You say things like Infinity is not linear or not a mathematical concept .

The paradox being If one strain of infinity is the actual possibility of "nothing has ever existed nor will ever exist " is actualized and not just a possibility (since we are taking the actual absolute infinite set ) then that would interfere or negate the entire set itself right ? So what's up with that?

Lol.

The only one Curt cornered is himself.

The mechanics of Infinity are so fucking advanced that Curt has no business even speaking to me on that topic.

If you are talking about a set (the mathematical term I take it, as a bounded conceptual container, as this was the context of Curt's question I recall) of absolute infinities by definition none of those elements within the set can be an absolute infinity.

Rendering the question null and void.

Infinity contains infinite Absolute Infinities. And that's just the beginning.

Not following .  But I will think about it . What they mean by set of all possible sets is that the natural numbers are infinity and the Integral but they are not absolute infinity because some mathematicians proved that some infinities are actually bigger than others ..and so if we have Infinity scale 1 and infinity scale 2 etc then the conclusion is there must be absolute infinity and the biggest possible infinity must include the actual possibility of there is no infinity lol . Anyways I will forget about it .

I don't know about those other discoveries - my observation was just from that context that Curt was asking from. I only speak on absolute infinity not infinity. Which is probably the issue in translation. I have the flaw in my own thinking of coming at things from a mathematical perspective because of University training.

I think Curt was definitely rationalising and attempting to apply mathematical proofs frequently in that interview - which lead to the framing of some questions standing on a bunch of presuppositions.

He was well meaning - attempting to look at crossovers between science/maths in Leo's worldview.

I think it just lead to some questions that weren't offering clarity.

I'd have to rewatch it to go further 🙃

Sounds like existence being nothing and all things as a paradox. Doesn't sound very surprising either...

You guys think too much, don't make this a study, we cannot with our limited minds understand infinity, You cannot understand the distance to the closes galaxy to us never mind the entire galaxy or universe never mind infinity, go down this path and endless questioning and looking for answers...

What's wrong with that?  Why is this bad?

@Someone here Leo also says the substance of reality is nothing in the interview. Hmmmm
