Sugar is bad if you are trying to lose weight. Cut out all sugar.

What about sweeteners? Allulose is not sugar.

If it has no calories then it does not affect weight.

Just eat more fresh fruit and veg and cut most other junk out, its so simple.

Nature has perfected this food for you for billions of years, stop trying to beat around the bush and overthink things.

Eat real food, cut out fake foods that come it packets or boxes or dry water-less / lifeless junk, and you'll see for yourself what true sobriety is.

What true health and vitality is. Its not rocket science, observe nature, keep it simple.

Nature is also about carnivorous predators eating their prey, unless you wanna make the case that tigers and bears aren't part of nature lmao

If you eliminate all carbs you will lose weight crazy fast and easy, and you don't even need to feel hungry.

Carbs are what make you fat.

What does that have to do with anything here? Do humans look or behave anything like those creatures?

No! Caloric surplus is the culprit, not carbs. Eliminating carbs will definitely help with hunger though. And water weight.

You said observe nature, so I'm simply making an observation lmao And yes, we are actually omnivores so we are partly like those creatures, as evidenced by the way our teeth and digestive system evolved. Gotta keep coping tho I guess lol

I don't think so, eating too much makes you fat. When I'm on a caloric deficit, even if 80% of those calories are carbs, I still lose weight.

Maybe eliminating carbs seemingly makes the process more rapid, but carbs also retain water so that might be water weight that you seem to lose couple kg's so quickly.

Also, in my experience, carbs are the best source of energy for workouts, cardio and weight lifting.

There is little ultra processed junk which is just made out of fat so when you cut out all carbs there is little room for junk. Thats the magic, not the cutting out of carbs. You can eliminate junk but keep filling carb sources like potatoes.

Super low carb is a legitimate way to do a diet, but high protein, high fiber and filling carbs is also a way to do a diet where hunger is kept relatively in check.

Yeah most people who did a low carb diet had a strong positiv emotional experience with the diet because they saw immediate success on the scale... which was water weight though and not fat.

For performance cutting out carbs is bad. And it will also make you look depleted.

@SimpleGuythe basal metabolic rate (the energy your body requires just to stay alive while resting, e.g. for brain function etc., without accounting for movement) changes after weight loss. if you lose weight and end up weighing 50kg instead of 70kg, your BMR is going to be a bit lower and vice versa ...of course other factors such as exercise and the fact that it takes more energy to metabolise protein compared to carbs must be taken into account to calculate the overall caloric need, though. so it's possible to lose weight and still up your energy needs just by being more active or eating more protein, having more muscle mass (this still counts toward the BMR), drinking more water, etc.

so the same amount of calories can put you in a deficit for some time, and gradually it can assimilate your maintenance intake (your BMR+other calories burnt through exercise etc.), as your body weight decreases, which is when you would stop losing and start maintaining weight with the same amount of calories.

but it's true that an ongoing energy deficit will inevitably lead to weight loss.

You don't particularly need to lose weight, and 53kg is being very underweight.

for OP's height, 53kg is still in the "healthy" range, but the very lower end of it. not saying it should be the goal, especially because it might be difficult for him to maintain, as most people don't "naturally" fall in that part of the range. i think @koops's suggestion is the best so far.

nope, caloric surplus makes you fat.

you can eat 100% carbs for a month with a 30% caloric deficit and you will lose weight. Ofc this is not recommended.

Also carbs make your workouts better, so the weight you lose would be mostly from body fat, minimizing muscle loss.

Caloric surplus is caused by carbs.

You won't get surplus on a no-carb diet.

It is hard to get a calorie surplus naturally. You need carb heavy foods.

Try to eat 2500 calories of protein. See how far you get.

Protein & fats are satiating. Carbs aren’t. They are the exact opposite. You could get into a surplus with fat cause it’s heavier but that’s not gonna be fun. Carbs work more like performance enhancing drugs than food.

Carbs are satiating as well.

How many apples are you gonna eat? How many bananas? How much brown rice?

Whats not satiating are highly processed carbs and whats gonna make you fat the most is THE COMBINATION OF HIGHLY PROCESSED CARBS AND FATS.

Btw. in mass phases in Bodybuilding you want most of the surplus coming from carbs because they are the most anabolic but its typically very hard to do because you just cant get that many carbs down so you make a compromise and include some fats.

All the junk food that you overeat is heavy in carbs. Cutting out carbs cuts out all the main foods that make you fat.

Those foods you mentioned are what I have to eat to meet my caloric needs precisely because I can eat a ton of them. Which isn’t the case with fat & protein. I would not be able to maintain or gain lean weight without the carbs for sure given my metabolism.

I am just saying carbs make me want to eat more.

Yeah, protein is the most satiating. What are your fat sources?
