@Princess Arabia Yeah cuz I’m still a slave. It’s annoying when I have all this drive.

How can I be fulfilled if I haven’t succeeded? xD

@Thought Art You play in festivals but still can't get a wage better than Mcdonald's?

if you really work at McDonal's it can't be that hard to replace that salary.

I'm pretty sure it's possible to replace that salary even playing at train stations

You wouldn't even know what fulfillment feels like. Nobody does. If they say they do, it's contentment and an acceptance of what is. Separation cannot feel fulfillment because fulfillment is the absence of separation which is already the case. Sorry to sound all woo woo, but it cannot be escaped, no matter how hard we try, we'll be back to square one of feeling unfulfilled. You're waiting for the next thing to happen to feel fulfilled. It'll never happen because there will always be a next. Never arriving.

What you know leaves what you don't know and what you don't know is all there is.

My problem is that people think that you need to "grind" to get where you want be. Yeah you can do that like training in the gym by having discipline and routine. But that is far slower than using your mind to change your surroundings rather than changing your surroundings to change your mind state. In the end you want to feel happy, right? What if you think about already being there where you want to be and how it'd make you feel. Feel all the nuances you get from achieving this thing. Change your state of energy and life moves to that direction.

@Thought Art if you have low cost of living maybe you can run a few months experiment where you play on public places? as long as you make enough to pay for a cheap rental and food you can live from your music.

Then you build up from there.

Older musicians generally are not as good. I’ve studied many live performances of great artists.

Yeah most young artists suck. You're ULTRA deluded.

@Human Mint No, most young artists who are successful are good. That’s my frame of reference.

Im not deluded it’s called listen to them perform. Compare bob dylan young vs now. lol it’s obvious. Elton John, Paul McCartney… they are worse now.

Why am I wasting my time trying to philosophize and cognize my suffering away when I should just go for my dreams.

You can’t achieve your dreams without the understanding of suffering. You need to go back read and contemplate the whole book, do some therapy, and contemplate not just your happiness and dreams but also your own suffering. Think about the thought experiment I gave you of being the last human on earth. You don’t do art because of success or money or being famous. If I knew I was gonna fail, I would do my art anyways because that’s how much I love my art.

It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

Then ask yourself what it would take for you to become masterful at music, and focus on making that a reality. Complaining and whining won't help you achieve anything.

Ground your approach, make it realistic. We see the results of excellent musicians, but we don't see the long hours, the struggles, the doubts, the monotony, the sacrifices, and everything else behind their efforts.

I disagree. I think this opinion is biased by the commercial music industry focusing on younger artists because younger people are the larger market to sell to. When I go to local shows, the older guys, say around 60 sound the best, technically, to me.

I do art for success and money so I can make more. I’m not the only human.

@Elliott To me many don’t. Comparing the same artist to themselves. Some do

I think you're comparing someone that has reached the mountaintop to their later self that has moved on from music in part, because they accomplished what they wanted. Do you ever listen to older local people, and younger?
