weird thing is that they want people to pre order but they don't release a propper trailer or some ingame footage... only trailer is the trailer about some art work on the logo that looks like it is made with chatgpt

You'll still buy it. That's why.

You will pre-order and be happy.

I'm worried that the game will a) lose it's edginess and b) that the gameplay will be too slow and simulator-like, like RD was. Instant fail back to checkpoint if you don't follow the script exactly. No player agency but the player character's nipples visibly harden through their shirt when it's cold. instant 10/10.

Hard to be edgy now day with how pychotic real life is already

If you want your character to have nipples you must buy the $100 edition.

That's a skill issue.

@Leo Gura You’ve never played a GTA? I remember you commenting on rockstars ability to make good games. (Which is kinda rare)

Also, isn’t $100 kind of a fair price for a game that took billions to develop, its literally the most expensive piece of entertainment in history.

Obviously Rockstar is skilled at making games. The style of games they make just doesn't interest me.

The ultimate glorification of stage Red.

Extended Look dropped.

I think it's a misunderstanding to categorize violent games as a glorification of stage red. That would imply that they lead to a reinforcement of the stage.

I think on the contrary it's more of a channeling of our impulses and shadow side into a cathartic performance art. I'm quite sure violent video games actually are proven to reduce crimes so there is some empirical backing on that theory as well.

You're assuming misunderstanding here.

Not saying that violent games increase violence. But yes it's a glorification.

GTA6 looks like GTA5 with RD2 graphics. Physics still look cartoonish. But I think the gameplay, immersion and storyline looks promising. What surprised me that there is no HUD.

Honestly, I'm kinda skeptical. Vibes way different. Much more melancholic, sort of noir vibe and less comedic. Less stereotypes and nutty dialogue. Feels more like a cop drama, which I think might result in a weird juxtaposition between cutscene and gameplay, where in the cutscenes characters are grounded in reality, but in gameplay you are running over grandmas with a truck.

I bet it's going to be harder to play like a menace in general in order to incentivize the player to immerse themselves into the role of the characters as opposed to 5, which was more of a romp. It has already been confirmed that you can only carry two weapons at a time, unlike 5, where you could carry every weapon in the game. I've also heard rumors of cars needing gas and cops enforcing traffic laws. The RD2 genes seem quiet dominant.

I kinda disagree with this design philosophy since it deprioritizes the player and gameplay in favor of cinematics. I'm worried that the game is going to be overly scripted, uninteresting and too melodramatic. It's already clear that it's not going to be as funny and satirical as 5. You'll walk 5 meters off script and get sent back to checkpoint. But we'll see.

It'll probably work like in RD2.

Gooner mods will go crazy though. GTA 6 will hook a generation of kids on latina porn. That milf with the freckles is converting me  ✌️😭

GTA will and is a *Flop!*

As I called it here, heh I am starting to feel like Nostradamus at my rate, albeit, in an environment with predictable feedback loops that makes their rotten fruit produce easy to predict.

Disclosure Day finished $241m against an estimated $300m break-even, called that one; even the aliens couldn’t abduct the missing $59m.

GTA VI will print money, but that's about it. Creative flop is my prediction and has hit the mark with the latest release yesterday here that people are larping about:

Mostly atmosphere and movie-slices, brief chases and shootouts; improved NPC reactions, same "pump and dump" highlight reel that attracts the reptiles still figuring out how to spin existential sentences together to build meaningful lives.

Meanwhile as we turn to AI, experimental Genie as I learned of just days ago on this forum actually, builds navigable worlds from text, images and street View in real time, primitive still, direction obvious.

Yal mistake marketing and successful hype for genuine imagination and artistic depth because yal just trying to escape a deeper depth to your own lives, and that's how they make their cash grab.

It shows, despite how long its taken them to make this release, just how short term their thinking is, there's no creative people anymore in the gaming and film industries it seems, just drive by shootings for a quick buck.

Build lives organised around causes demanding everything from you, then watch this expensive video game and film variant of a coke vending machine suddenly feel like the least appealing option. Charlie Munger (Coca cola founder) was a master with human psychology, he made a living out of figuring out how to keep humans on the drip, all these creative industries now have reverse engineered the addiction loops further and are paying social influences to rope you into em. And I still won't waste my time for a pirated version, much less my money on a film ticket to watch Disclosure Day!

The visionaries for GTA left years ago, now its like Apple and Microsoft, running the same old algorithms, with no new artistic gestures.
