Is a Doorknob Conscious?

32 posts in this topic

@Ramasta9Its like when you are sleeping you are not conscious but you are consciousness. Since people can smoke drugs and become objects we can assume that a doorknob can become conscious but when it does if it has an ego it will flip out. So we know the doorknob has consciousness. Eventually the ego fades away and they truly become the doorknob which is consciousness at that point. When theres no ego theres no thing to know you just are. But since people can become the thing and get scared there must be consciousness in or behind the object.

Sometimes it's the journey itself that teaches/ A lot about the destination not aware of/No matter how far/
How you go/How long it may last/Venture life, burn your dread

The phrase "The wild geese do not intend to cast their reflection; the water has no mind to receive their image" is a line from a Zen poem that illustrates the principle of spontaneous, unforced action and acceptance. It suggests that things happen naturally without conscious effort or desire, a concept often used to teach mindfulness and letting go of attachments. The geese do not try to create their image, and the water does not try to hold it, yet the reflection appears and disappears as a natural occurrence.

Spontaneous action:

The geese fly and the reflection appears without any intention or goal from either the geese or the water.

Non-attachment:

The poem teaches that it is natural for things to be transient. The water has no need to "keep" the image, just as the geese have no need to "cast" it.

Natural flow:

The line is often used to encourage a way of being that is free from self-consciousness and unnecessary effort, allowing events to unfold naturally.

Metaphor for life:

It's a metaphor for living in the present moment, noticing beauty without clinging to it, and accepting the natural, changing flow of life.

Consciousness being likened to water, is this imageless infinity reflecting transient images upon contact.

@Mellowmarsh

I would even say consciousness is like mercury: mercury flows around every form, becomes it, and at the same time is never soaked by objects, always independent. And you have to be like mercury, ahaha. It's just a metaphor, or one of the metaphors.

And no, I haven't listened to Sadhguru enough; yes, I recently heard that he's doing some manipulations with mercury. But that approach isn't my thing; I can't accept it. And I accept what I don't accept. This is who I am. I simply Am.

I am the consciousness through which the absolute experiences. Consciousness is change. Everything changes. The absolute inhabits it all and is known by all to the extent it is conscious. Doorknobs aren't conscious of much as seen by the face that they don't change much.

From what i have experienced, i was out of body for like 6 seconds and could see through my see-through astral body. All objects are not conscious but are made out of intelligent/spirit energy and do not possess a mind like leo gura has said , they're made out of spirit energy that you can zoom into.
