It’s like something about reality cannot be talked about

I can feel this sometimes

How no matter what ideas my mind comes up with, it doesn’t quite “hit the spot”

Sometimes it can almost feel like I don’t understand anything at all!

Like no matter what my brain says, it doesn’t quite grapple anything exactly

Non dual folks speak about how the nature of reality cannot be explained or grasped

Im not in a “non dual” state right now, but I feel this facet of reality could be ~felt~ somehow even in every day life

Like there’s something in this experience of reality that is too direct, too raw and pure, like pure existence - to be explained in words. And it’s just everyday life, doesn’t have to be non dual

Ah

I share that sentiment, it can be frustating. Like trying to hit a target that doesn't exist.

Hi sir, the nature of reality is also your nature.

If its matter, you are also made of matter

If its mind, you are also made of mind

If its consciousness,  you are also made of consciousness

Investigate what you are, "know thyself". One thing is true, you are not separate from the universe. ♡ #nonduality #love 😀

But what if he hammers sign post pointing to the ocean? That might be some useful language, if we are appearantly far away from the ocean (from our true nature)

I don’t really find it frustrating tho as I don’t really seek mental understanding

Also the same feeling, when you lose your keys and you say to yourself that you left them at home, but you felt them fall out of your pocket, but since you didnt pay attention it only lives in your unconscious mind. Then when you get home and the keys arent there, somehow you already knew they wouldnt be.

It's almost like a finger is pointing to a moon.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

I think it is because of human communication skills. Our communication skill is not much better than that of a caveman if you look at the grand scheme of things. As portrayed in the movie Arrival, aliens might have a much better communication skill. Just imagine being able to tell the story of all existence in 0.1 second. That download is possible with things like neurolink.

The frustration may arise from deeply experiencing our apparent impossibility - or the elusiveness despite all our effort - of grasping things in themselves.

Language and thought are never the thing itself. What you may be pointing to, perhaps, is our shared ignorance of anything that exists for itself. The more we do the work, provided we are honest about our experience, the more we realize our consciousness is currently out of alignment with the nature of pretty much everything.

Getting to the core of reality involves becoming conscious - an "act" that intrinsically transcends human faculties. It is deeper than figuring something out or coming up with an explanation, as you suggested.

Perhaps the place you are speaking from is the very source of our drive to adopt so much beliefs and "knowledge" - which, by the way, never seem to hit the mark either.

Yet this is a useful and powerful vantage point from which to ask deeper questions about anything, such as: What is language? What are experience and perception? How can we reach direct knowledge of something, if such a possibility exists in the first place?

It's about the inherent limits of representation. But yes, language remains incredibly useful in many ways, despite that. It can draw attention to certain realities and open doors.

Yes! That is God!

God is Everything, All, and Infinity. The moment you try to talk about it or explain it, you limit it.

You could start listing the digits of pi, but no matter how many digits you write, there would always be more digits to come, stretching on infinitely. There’s no “end” point where you can say, “Okay, that’s all of pi.” You’d never finish, because infinity has no final point to reach.

Words are to split reality into this and that. Reality is this and that is therefore impossible.

The reason God cant be shown is cause of this. No one has ever told you what it is cause you cant say what it is.

Sometimes it's the journey itself that teaches/ A lot about the destination not aware of/No matter how far/
How you go/How long it may last/Venture life, burn your dread

I guess the person by default deals with things in dualistic manner, forming ideas about things, relating to them like objects of desire or not. But to get to the core of something means not doing that, so it’s in conflict with the normal way a human operates, and it’s not always easy to give up that normal mode of operation, that’s why non duality is turned into ideas for folks. Self honesty is important to see this, and it can be useful to start where you are by asking questions as you say
