Its the only way Conservatism works, fear, which consumes Conservatives essentially 24/7. If they wouldn't make their lives revolve around politics, they would not be Conservative. If they took a break and stopped being scared, they wouldn't continue conservatism, it consumes your life. They're in a living hell, that's why they're monsters.

Fear is what allows one to survive.  So we all have fear.  I think its greed, ego, and the egos lust for power and control that is stronger in that party.   But it does exist in both.

Don't twist things. I posted that because you doubt and mimimize the fascistic aspect of this situation.

There is no justification for killing political commentators. We are examining the causal connections of this event. What actually caused this event? That's the interesting question. The right-wing has the causal connection wrong because they are so horny to project every bad thing on the left. That is what I find unacceptable and push back on.

What i have leaned here thus far is that he's not a leftist (heavy deflection but maybe) and that maybe he was just some crazy loner like they labeled Oswald.  In the end they're right - anyone who would do this isnt rational.  But the subtle things behind what led up to this should be inspected.  And of course here we have that Kirk said some things that were outright messed up.  The real question is where do we draw the line between words and action based on those words? How radical should we be?

It's possible to call out pathology in others and not use it to boost oneself. I don't think I'm better than anyone - I don't think in those terms, but certain things are healthier than others.
