Sitting on benches and under trees

Even if in absolute truth nothing leads to nothing. We still live in a world that “seems to work a certain way”. So one might as well do what one thinks is most likely to lead to one’s goal : even if that is “doing nothing” which is still a kind of “action”.

Yes that is true (or better seems true??? Haha 😂).

And whatever way it is, it's my experience as well that as you say we live with the assumption that " the world works a certain way". Whole societes, life is built on that.

Even free will lol. Imagine how law system, prison, sentences would look if we dissolve the ASSUMPTION of free will. So how we treat crimes then?

Reality is of paradoxical nature and can be quite confusing, but also quite entertaining... which are maybe the two main functions of it? Seems like it ;)

Yea I agree.

I think as long as we live with this (maybe illusion) of reality and self, it’s useful to act and talk in accordance. We can do all that while simultaneously seek to know the true nature of reality .Meaning we can play the game while simultaneously seeking to end it and know truth of it

Holy crap - the following is no lie ( @Carl-Richard @Carl-Richard @Carl-Richard )

There is a small bench along the river I walk along each morning.

I do a 15 minute moment of focused presence (on my experience: feeling, sensation, sound, light and colour) here, each morning, before the insanity of engaging in society takes over.

Today something cold and wet flung out at me (it is very windy in Melbourne, Australia at the moment)

Initially I didn't register anything, but then a strange, moving, cold and clammy wiggly sensation was perceived near my neck.

It was this bastard (below) - so I actually came directly to this thread to post: 'I sat on a bench on a nondescript day, and my experience was one of wild frogs being flung at me while meditating, under gumtrees by the river :P '

... only to find a frog already waiting for me!!!

You did it again. *Pulls frog out of pocket* Just kidding. I'm happy to report no frogs in the vicinity (in thought, perception, or dreams), so this one is all on you 😝

Yes well said.  Interesting that you say "seeking to end it".

I wonder how many people feel like that. I remember my ex saying once something like "I feel like I don't belong here". Can be interpreted in many ways, as looking for a place in society, where you live etc but when she said it, I had a feeling that it's more than that. Felt like a metaphysical meaning. Might be my projection, who knows.

I sometimes just wonder about how the roles are played. I mean, is it necessary that things are played the way they are now? Pretending, hiding? And when I dig deeper, ask questions, have really open dialogue, there's often a lot of  resistance. I mean I get it, I have resistance too and was afraid when approaching dissolution in mediation.

But still, if there is a deeper, genuine desire for people (or "it") to end this game, then there are better ways to do that, aren't there?

And it's funny because "it" is capable of immediate role switching, dropping the persona like a glove. I have seen it many times and here in the forum there are other stories about it.

All is state, enlightenment is a state, nonenlightenment is a state. A human cannot attain enlightenment because they are trapped in a state. The I AM awareness is the thing that gets the realization through the human vehicle. You really wanna get enlightened?

Watch this video in an altered state which can be achieved either through a psychedelic, an edible (Look up MOOD), or a very prolonged meditation session.

Watch this with a mind empty of thought in a very restful state (resist the urge to go to sleep) and your awareness will literally do the work for you. You will know it happened when what Leo described at the 20 minute mark of the video happens. Your sense of self will spill out into the world around you and everything will be experienced as completely identical to your human body.

This will be a lived experience and is what everyone on the planet secretly desires but they do not know this. Everyone is in search for the deepest connection possible with life, everyone is in search for intimacy and Enlightenment gives you that. Now after this video and practice....the only thing left is to realize you are God.

Again, enter an altered state by whichever method you use and watch this with a quiet restful mind and follow the steps and allow awareness to reveal this truth.

^^^^This right here is all anyone on the forums has to do and they will get it. It really is this easy and simple.

This is it, specially the 2nd video.

Still, sitting in benches watching life pass and sitting under trees (hell, even climbing a bit and sitting in branches) is awesome.

But awakening is most likely to happen with a higher state of consciousness + some guidance.

So sitting in benches and under trees, can develop a great 'awareness muscle', but these deep exercices are key.

So do you think Leo is liberated?

So with enlightenment, do you basically mean no self/no story/centerless?

Becoming directly conscious of your nature or the absolute nature of existence.

I'd avoid trying to sort this out into a playbook or anything like that. Whatever's ultimately true is the goal with that.

@Sugarcoat @PurpleTree you guys have no patience xD

The shortest possible answer to the question “what is enlightenment” is :

Enlightenment is.

(It might even be correct )

I had follow up questions too.

But i think it’s useless.

Zen masters sometimes curse people out. And other masters too. Watch UG Krishnamurti videos. 🧘
