Is Cosmic Enlightenment (Oneness with the Universe/All That Is) a Fantasy?

I hear that term a lot, and it seems like everyone is searching for it, and some claim they have achieved it.

From my training, "Before Enlightenment: Chop Wood, Carry Water. After Enlightenment: Chop Wood, Carry Water." The difference is that we don't carry around all that emotional suffering with us. 

Imagine a child who gets lost in a daydream. The child identifies with the fantasy: the excitement, the adventure. Then the lunch bell rings and he snaps out of it and goes to eat lunch. All those emotions are left behind and forgotten.

If you believe Cosmic Enlightenment is real, what does it look like?

@Cathy92506 the very first thing in your spiritual training should have been: don't take any training/teaching/talk as a belief.  Find what is true in your own direct experience.   Use ancient spiritual practices would be my advice but find out for yourself.  

By the way your training isn't all wrong but you are getting bits and pieces like if you read the Bible and believed it.   Find out for yourself.

You are just watching the life through the body. And when body dies movie ends. But You are always what You are. Only, movie is made of You.

Death only happens to the body.

Life and death happen inside You, but You are never touched.

Its more real than a human is real. A human being is like a radio that can see to conciousness. You aren't the radio you are conciousness listening to whats happening inside the radio. You are whats listening to the radio confusing itself with the radio. Everything you think you are is part of the radio. If you see you aren't any part of the radio you are something else you will see the universe and that you are it looking at itself.

I'm not totally sure what you are asking but you are already one with everything. For example if you hear another person talking..Notice that the voice exists "inside your mind ". You know what i mean ?

@Cathy92506 What you are referring to is actually called "Cosmic Consciousness". Which is the realization that 'you' are not separate from the universe and all of reality and in fact are the lens in which the universe is aware of itself.  Is that a fantasy or is it real? That depends on your direct experience at the moment. At times the universe/reality/you can be very real. At other times not so much. Sometimes you are one with the universe. Other times separate from it. And other times, you and the universe are not real at all.

@Cathy92506 Its not a fantasy, but it will not happen for most.  Its like a poor person looking at billionaires and saying "I want what they got", but its a too far away goal to go for, first get Yourself out of poverty, then be stable financially, then start building wealth from there..

The problem lies in too much sharing, too much goal orientation, and not dealing with what and where You are at right now.

If You suffering in any way, then Cosmic Enlightenment is not going to happen for You, so first deal with Your suffering on a permanent basis then see what Potential lie ahead, see for Yourself Experientially what is beyond this daily Suffering pattern because if Suffering is possible daily so if Joyfulness daily and naturally, get to that point and go from there, forget Enlightenment, just go step by step...
