Isn't the degree of consciousness the degree of health?

I just thought about how the degree of consciousness is closely related to health.

As I experience cognitive issues, low clarity and peace of mind, an racing mind with constant daydreaming, it makes it clear to me, that good health is the prerequisite for achieving awakening. Further, health can be seen as the degree of awakening itself.

If there is lack of energy, lack of stability in the body-mind system, if there is pain and other more subtle forms of discomfort, awakening can become impossible.


It's not about having a individual healthy body.
It's about shifting the state of Being itself to be God-like.
The more energy, the more harmony, the more well-being, the more concentration, the more clarity, the more peace of mind there is, the deeper life can be grasped.
While fatigue, sleepiness, dissonance, discomfort, scattering of attention, confusion, conflict are symptoms of illness and hinder awakening, truthfulness and insight.

In this sense the quest for spiritual awakening and Oneness seems to be mostly the quest for the ultimate health of the universe.

Of course there is more, like epistemology, open-mindedness, discipline, austerity, genetics, karma,...
So, maybe this notion is incomplete.
But still, I think the importance of Health with an capital H, as an overarching component of development is overlooked.

It's all God-like. Wouldn't be if it wasn't. Bad health good health, joy, pain, suffering....all God-like. It's everything.

The highest and lowest degree of conciousness is brain dead retarded.

When I see the void from an nde I saw the brain dead retarded state and couldn't not look at it for what it felt was 3 months and couldn't move.

When I saw God the second time it felt like I quantum leaped to the highest point and saw they were the exact same state. Then I made the connection that that is what God is. My brain was pointing me to God being the brain dead state of death, and deep sleep and that that deep sleep state is happening right now right in front of us.

We are the brain dead deep sleep pretending to be a human you dont have eyeballs its just a thing that isn't, anything dreaming infinetly. Your eyelids closing are a feature reality used to seperate itself from itself.your eye lids are not blocking light they are deleting all of the light in the universe and then reconstructing it when you open them. There's no seperation of inside and outside reality.

It will take any state of conciousness and it always still be at its highest state.

When your body collapses and you have 0 health you be going to your highest state.

The only health is to get out of here alive. Most of us are a few breaths away from not doing so. Who cares about adding a few days or having a happier stay. It's a stay of execution.

@Ima Freeman There is a correlation between peak consciousness and health, but consciousness still is the medium and essence of pain and suffering. You're conscious of all the disease you describe, in the same way you become conscious of a screen or the Infinite nature of reality.

In short, yes to realize God, Peak consciousness and Infinity your consciousness must break all limits and serious health issues may be a serious constraint/bottleneck. To realize the existential nature of Reality which is Consciousness, it health or it's absence, is neither an obstacle nor helpful, because you're always existing, pain is existing, pleasure is existing, no matter the form, sensation or object reality takes, that's it, this is the Ever-present-Beingness Awakening so to speak, it's always on.

One could say so. God must by definition encompass everything.

But you know what I mean. There are prerequisites for awakening.
There are good states and bad states, the way nature laid it out, the way Life wants it.

Should illness be accepted as Life's will?
I' mean I still will fight for my health, but what comes out of it is what God or Life wants.

When you die you will be in your highest state with 0 hp. Thats how death is God. I have anecdotal evidence of this. You have no experience besides rehashed text you read. If you interpret what I said as making no sense maybe you got hit in the face too many times cause its very clear wording.

Eckhart Tolle was suicidal when he awoke. Extreme fasting tends to increase meditative ability, not decrease it. People who're dying from ill health typically enter expanded states of awareness.

I think we underestimate what is possible if you let go of completely everything, and what time and attention can do to you. What is mostly holding you back is not health. It's your goals, your attachments, what you occupy your time with. If you let go of everything right now, you will be enlightened no matter how sick you are.

100% been my experience - meditating while fasted and collecting data through my Garmin is quite amazing. While fasted I enter deeper non-sleep states and see my heartrate drop to 20 beats per minute and below.

I recommend everyone do a stint volunteering at a hospice. What you see there cannot be explained or fully comprehended. The process of dying - the self sloughs off - being is revealed. Awareness is being deconstructed, literally, before your eyes. And to witness this? There needs to be a whole host of new words in the English language to express it. Presence gathers like a gentle tide and folds you tenderly into its embrace. Witnessing natural death was the most beauty I have been present for.

Agree - letting go of attachments. One engages in the flow of existence and awareness. No more internal friction is generated to pollute the individual. 

I think if we look at the base word 'health' - what is it really? If we take the body as an example (as this is a material reality) - it is energy balance. Homeostasis. Everything generated by the egoic 'self' introduces elements that throw consciousness out of balance. Pollute awareness.

Honestly what you make about it is second order reality. The sensorial fact of your illness is first order and that is the only thing I can point to. You go about making sense of it.
