Sadhguru on local american news

It’s actually crazy that some random enlightened being who 5 years ago was just another “godman” to now one of the most influential people on the globe! Either two things that’s really going on: 1). This guy is the greatest conman alive and is now selling books and making money through a spiritual fantasy, or 2). This guy is the messiah that Christians talk about who is going to save us from hell. Truly fascinating.

He is neither.

Just a popular yogi.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

If you ever participate in one of his courses you will realize beside all this cultural worshipping that he is definitely not a conman. He really has something unique to offer.

Sadhguru is mainly an entrepreneur, who sells products from "beyond". During his appearance he is mostly directly or indirectly promoting his products. He'll say something witty or intelligent and then immediately promote "Inner Engineering" his main product that anyone can buy online (Edit: i didn't watch the video before writing this and he starts promoting "Inner Engineering" in first 5 seconds :D).

It's not that the product itself is not useful, but it's not for everyone and it shouldn't be one's only source or practice, and the secrecy around "Shambhavi Mahamudra" (the practice that you will finally be allowed to do after multiple sessions with Sadhguru) is purely an old age way of piracy prevention. I would argue that his method of piracy prevention is better than UFC :D.

In a sense @Leo Gura too is an entrepreneur, However, a big part of his life is "truth seeking", he is kind of truth seeker in public. Sadhguru is not a truth seeker, he claims to have already found it I mean (Sometimes from birth and other times at a young age, but somehow he is above and beyond everyone.), there is a story in one of his books which is very telling in that sense. It basically ends with his mother touching his feet like a disciple, and that too when he was very young. Which makes me believe that he does have illusions of grandeur, the toned down version of his voice is for the modern audience. He talks differently to his own people.

America is a materialistic culture, so a particular costume and mannerism is necessary to market a spiritual fanstasy and sell another belief system.

I have found it.

I'm not seeking it, I'm deepening my connection to it. It's like marriage to Truth.

Sahguru found it too and is helping others find it in his Hindu way.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@Leo Gura, does he fully believe in Hinduism, or is he just talking in Hindu terms to reach more people who believe in Hinduism?

If he does believe in Hinduism, then how could he be trusted in caring about the truth?

If one really loves knowing the truth, isn't it inevitable that one would see through beliefs?

@Nemra It's his culture.

Like our cheeseburgers and fries.

Awakening does not eliminate cultural programming and bias.

How much does this really limit Sadghuru?

Seems your work in comparison is more centered on deconstruction of cultural programming and bias to reach higher orders of Consciousness & understanding.

"Metaphors, references, there is no truth,
only awareness contextualizing experience." - an arbitrary perspective to be further deconstructed

Accurate-

I find there is a subtle difference between acknowledging truth in such metaphors and references vs. building a belief system from them. It’s not talked about enough in spiritual circles

To be honest, if I followed Sadhguru, I would have been lost. Too much believing for me.

I'm glad that I found your channel. 🙂

I appreciate that you are honest about the methods, and you don't try to hide or misrepresent them.

Hinduism is more programmed for the spiritual way of life

American culture is wayyyy too materialistic to put out enlightenment beings on the same level the east does.

There's great stuff in Hindu culture. But also lots of human noise.

They act like they own spirituality.

@Leo Gura, what do you think are the reasons for that?

I have seen that people who are into it, they do act like they own it. I think it perhaps is related to the religion's age.

I think in the same way western cultures revolutionized material science in the enlightenment era, ancient India revolutionized the spiritual sciences, or the science of the consciousness (but not discrediting the ancient Greeks/romans  and Egyptians)

@Leo Gura so sadghuru the solipsist and truth founder like you just in Hindu style? Or does he miss something?

He also encountered alien energys and talks openly about it. So he is breaking out of Hindu culture and discovers new things.
