I know some people don’t like the word ego but doesn’t matter

 

Ego is separation 

ego is approaching (how should i approach this feeling, person, situation)

ego is in time

ego is seeking

ego is self and other

ego is a story 

ego is lack

ego is an attempt to control self and others, feelings, situations, outcomes 

ego is need

ego needs confirmation 

ego is knowledge 

ego is hierarchy 

ego is importance

ego is fear of death 

ego is fear of losing something 

ego is no to what is

ego is trying to fit into society 

ego is trying to be special 

ego is trying to be safe

ego is trying to find a solution 

ego is a defense mechanism 

ego is an illusion

@PurpleTree I liked your OP but I hesitated at "Ego is trying to be special"

You mean this in a way of "ego is making things personal" or "ego is making things about itself"?

Because in some way, we all are special in playing our role in this life, aren't we?

So I would call myself special, just the same as I would call that you or anyone else

So how can everyone be special? Then the word makes no sense. Yea ego is trying to make everything personal and special. For example People think they’re smarter than they are. People think other people think about them more than they do etc.

What we call ego is human density, everything that binds us to limited experience. Fear and desire create the relational center of reality that a human being is, and they exist because it is the logical, coherent combination for existing on this plane of existence.

Ego is the knower, it tries to know reality but it ultimately fails because it can’t really know itself.

Ego is the user and abuser it tries to use parts or reality for its own gain, advantage but it fails because its illusory.

Ego thinks it has to control because if it doesn’t the body or person will do crazy or bad stuff and get hurt or thrown out of society. That’s the constriction/contraction. But that’s already illusory.
