Before And After Enlightenment

32 posts in this topic

@Someone here, he has changed his attitude since then.

However, I see it the following way: if a thing is true, then it's true whether or not he is angry, even if I don't like the attitude. I don't know, he might have said some untruthful things along the way, but as long as he reevaluates for the sake of truth, understanding and open-mindedness, then it's good for me. And it is not like I know the truth about everything. I would like to think that I have uncovered far fewer truths than him.

Also, consider that he might be the only one who truly understands awakening. I don't know.

I focus more on his epistemology content. I learn from him and test against him. Lol.

However, I view his awakening content as a possibility that might be true or false, at least for me, because he will never be able to change my state of consciousness. There is a tool for that. 😉

Any gurus, or anyone that you consider to be enlightened, did you know about them before they were enlightened. Have you ever witnessed the transition in anyone. Not the transition itself, but the before and after like you would see a person going from being broke to rich. Anyone have any stories or videos to share of an enlightened being now and what they were like before enlightenment?

I like your idea. Going for real experience instead of stories and hearsay. For me, no I haven't seen that. Neither the process, nor a "final" enlightened person.

Moreover

1) A person on a screen doing a video is just that.  People only show what they want to show. Who knows what is going on with the persons life outside the video.

2) Same for any book, or audio or whatever

3) For me, the real measuring stick is seeing a person in live in situations that are difficult for him/her. See what and how they do it.

"Strictly speaking, there is no enlightenment person but only enlightened action." (don't remember source of quote)

@theleelajoker Your entire field is Consciousness. You are imagining all people and events and stories.

YOU are GOD! Not merely a person.

A person is God from such a radical state.

So while I agree, I don't do that consciously. Or at least I haven't found a way to consciously manifest people, event and stories. Don't even know if I want that, absolute control is boring I guess?!

So what remains?

1) Try to make the unconscious conscious to get more control

2) Totally let go of control.  Go with everything that is happening bc I "know" that deep inside it's me, even if I don't "know" right now

3) Balance in between 1) and 2)

4) ? [Please fill in]

Anybody can maneuver any situation in any circumstance. Doesn't matter. Cool, calm and collected, in a frenzy, suffering, wise decision, whatever the case may be it's only a decision being made.

What you know leaves what you don't know and what you don't know is all there is.

If not action, then what is the criteria for you to be enlightened?

Someone like Ramana Maharshi, who one day completely loses his worldly inclination and finds himself in a state of permanent, total openness. He barely moves, speaks little, sits in meditation all day, and is indifferent to one thing or another, life or death.

Then why I can't imagine some millions? Just two, I don't need more.

Hey now!  Do not doubt the @Inliytened1!! He has since come around and acknowledged meditation.   @Princess Arabia is right there is a difference between awakening and enlightenment the old fashioned way - or the natural way.  you could call it a full body kundalini awakening although that does nothing to serve it justice.  It is simply ineffable.   Which is why talking about it or trying to describe it someone is pointless.

@blackchair I WAS DELUSIONAL.

"When you get very serious about truth you accept your life situation exactly as it is. So much so that you aren't childishly sitting around wishing it were otherwise. If you were confined to a wheelchair you would just accept it as how reality is. Just as you now just accept that you are not a bird who can fly."
