Where Does Consciousness Come From?

What exactly is infinite potential? That which is finite cannot produce anything that is infinite. The only thing that has infinite potential is the Infinite itself.

Infinite potential is a state that all is possible and nothing has been determined.

I did not say finite produces infinite, you misunderstand once again.

Interesting. You said that "it could be said that consciousness is the initial form of infinite potential."

Do you believe consciousness to be infinite?

@SOUL It's the void, which is undefined thus limitless/infinite ;)

I think conciousness does come in form, or atleast it tends to increase in more complex systems. In the end this is not discrete, but a continious increase.

For example we acknowledge that some objects are more conciouss that other things; living organisms.

Now the complexer these object tend to become the higher the density of conciousness and more obvious it is to tell it behaves in an intelligent manner.

So does intelligence equal conciousness? Because this is the act to understand the environment in a more complete/in-depth way than the ones with less awareness.

Consciousness can expand  to any possible degree of awareness since it is the initial form of potential.

@SOULSure, but it does not have infinite potential. Consciousness cannot turn into a potato, or a Ferrari, for example. The attribute of infinitude can only apply to the Infinite.

It's the void

The void is absolute in it being nothing. It's not consciousness, it's not potential, not time, it's absolute in being devoid.

Infinite potential manifests as consciousness.

Infinite void manifests as space.

Infinite now manifests as time.

The manifest is not the absolute, it's an existential expression of it but it is not it in the absolute state.

It is only limited for yourself by your ideas of it, not for anyone else and certainly your ideas of it doesn't limit consciousness.

@SOUL What do you expect before any unlimited potentional manifests? The void, since none of these potentials have been realized until then. Emptyness is the infinite potentional, it's the ultimate calmness before something arises.

All things arise continously and don't pop into existence, thats why nothing is the shared starting point of all. They all share this as their absolute origin.

The void is a paradox, its so empty its full of all possibilities 😇

Are you saying that your consciousness is unlimited?

Potential is a thing even if it's all things unfulfilled but isn't the same as the void which is devoid of anything as well as the potential of all things.

Emptiness implies that there is a thing not yet filled so emptiness is not the void because the void is devoid of anything including a thing that has yet to be filled.

It's not just a paradox, it's mind shattering and consciousness stripping because even the purest of awareness cannot be one with the void.

Consciousness just is.

I don't see any other way to put it.

How the material brain produces our immaterial sense of awareness?

@Prabhaker  One could say, the same way it produces all experience.
