Science goblin has a nice ring to it. But people would still hold it against me.

I accept that I need to be more responsible and have less fun with words.

It would be genuinely funny though if people got mad that you where calling scientists goblins.

I honestly never considered this was offensive because hearing Leo call people rats genuinely broke down illusions of authority in my mind.

Edit: it was obviously offensive but indirect and effective for some, I think. I at least still think they’re kind of rats :D

I take a lot of the Leo comments with a grain of salt, especially after the ‘everything is bullshit’ video.

I don’t think Leo is trying to target people as much as he is trying to be profound.

Although, provocation is not profundity.

It’s tricky because his mind games actually worked on me. In hindsight, I think they may have been unnecessary, though.

I originally used the word rat to mirror gym-rats.

Why is gym-rat acceptable but science-rat no?

Double-standards much?

When I say science rat, I mean it like gym-rat. Neil DeGrasse Tyson is a science-rat.

Obviously a science-rat will not appreciate being called a science-rat.

Is it the best idea to call them science-rats? Obviously no. But it is funny.

That’s hilarious—🤣 it honestly just makes me like the comparison more.

But yes, so easy to misinterpret… for rats maybe.

JUST KIDDING

@Leo Gura Gym Rat isn’t a demeaning term, right?

You can't realize God as deeply as I have and watch a scientist smugly pontificating about materialism, and not see him as a rat, and laugh

There is a saying in Brasil that say "I need to Laugh so I dont Cry"

scientists and professors don’t ..

You knows its not a reasonable comparison to consider it a double standard

Anyway, I don’t care much about this I don’t mean to be unkind to you.

If a rat knew what a rat was, would it be offended?

That's how you get a mod position. Prediction: Yeti will be a mod within 1-2 months.

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?

I’m not sure I would want a mod position.

How come true intelligence takes a more open mind? I notice dumb people just think they're smart but can't understand abstract concepts very well. Like Trump, he just isn't bright and seems unable to grapple with different ideas, or just doesn't understand others. But I notice people with higher consciousness tend to be able to appreciate abstract arbitrary thinking more, and it's more likely they can see that many things are made up by humans, yet they also can understand that they stjll have to work with it.

Being a mod is fun.

You have your own little chatroom and people on the forum start agreeing with all your opinions xD

@TheEnigma Because Intelligence itself is infinitely fluid.

The higher the intelligence the more abstract it becomes.
