@Leo Gura Why is it that studying science in university is the criterium for having rationality? I don’t think you understand that most people doing science in university are just conformist NPCs doing it because everyone else is.

Conformist yes, but they will at least train you in rationality.

Quote

Why isn’t studying philosophy a better criterium for rationality—that’s what you did. I’m aware of all the problems with academic philosophy, but it’s still better than science. Every scientific field is siloed and lacks holism (every academic field really). It has nothing to do with actually understanding reality on a deep level.

Analytic philosophy is acceptable too.

But serious rationality is learned when practicing science.

Quote

If you ask any person studying science about their epistemology, they will reveal themselves to be clowns.

Rationality is a lower standard.

Not everything is about existential matters.

Rationality is a medium terrain and there is much there to master.

You don't need advanced epistemology to practice rationality.

Catching up with ya’ll.

I relate to this one a lot. Sometimes when people behave very poorly / unconsciously, I find myself lashing out onto them in a tough love kind of way, then after calming down I feel wronged by my own behaviour.

It's a big part of conditioning we all work through.

I am a super strong proponent of investigating and understanding the emotional and feeling domains of the human experience.

The better our understanding and interoception of the subtle emotions; naming, labelling, identifying with nuance and a high level of distinction - the clearer we see through self deception. The ability to discern when a feeling or emotion might be influencing our perception or creating a bias has been paramount for me in truth seeking 🫶

Fair enough, I just think studying science in university is a very arbitrary standard to have.
For example: if someone studies math, they do learn some amount of rationality as it applies to math—but whether they can apply that outside the limited context of math, or even go beyond it, is another question.
It’s the same thing for fields like biology, physics, etc. They all use some rationality, but it’s applied very narrowly.

What is this?

That's the only question

@Leo Gura

Do you have a specific clear vision of what you really want out of this work?

I am after crazy levels of God-Consciousness. And I am after a deep embodiment of Love and selflessness. And very advanced cognitive development.

Is there a perfect point where you are done?

I don't know.

Is this all about understanding for pure understanding?

Not only that.

I tend to think sometimes you're just running on circles or being lost in the maze.

No. I have clear goals that I work on every day.

It's not arbitrary.

Where else do people get a deep training in rationality? Nowhere.

To grasp rationality you basically need a PhD. I wouldn't trust anyone without a PhD to know how to do rationality. That's why most normies are so irrational.

You can do it yourself, if you are willing. And then you can even go beyond that stage.

That’s what I’ve done with actualized.org.

What is this?

That's the only question

I was talking about even beyond Autonomous stage. Anything less is still conformist.

😂 Come on man!  Don't do this. lol.

You can't keep redefining what it means to be a conformist. First it was one in a million. Then only you and Ralston. Then Autonomous mind. Now even Autonomous isn't enough.

You don't have to elevate non-conformity to be some unreachable thing that only 5 humans can reach. Come up with another word if necessary, but don't warp perception to suit yourself.

Just admit it man. You are cool and unique, but you're not 1 in a million. And you don't have to be for people to love you. You're cool as hell without the inflation. And even if you are 1 in a million, don't let it go to your head such that you start warping reality for everyone else.

Don't be a spiritual Trump. 😂

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?

I have always been pointing to the same thing.

Don't make it about me.

I said something very specific in that quote and you twisted to suit your needs.

Yes. All that aside, there is definitely value in good ol’ tough love, when done consciously, at the right times.

100%

Make no mistake I am not proposing to tailor anything to sound nice to someone's emotions/feelings 😄

More than knowing/understanding our own is important.

I'm not proposing a model, lol. I'm living proof of it. I've spent decades trying to understand this stuff about myself, with ~70% of that effort being independent observation, not borrowed frameworks. But you're right to not just accept it. I wouldn't either.

It's a structured way of explaining how something works? That is a model.

@Leo Gura, do you think having a technical job can help one develop rationality?

I don’t think the goal of this work is to be nonconformist. I just think it creates the dynamic of there being a goal one much reach in order to be god / do this work, which I don’t think there is on this particular term, and furthermore who said all conformity is a problem or against this work? I would say authenticity is far more important to strive for because you are being true to yourself. Non conformity is the byproduct of this work because you shed a lot of lies. It’s not the goal and it doesn’t matter past a certain point since you can sit as infinite love even in conformist culture and during mundane life. A lot of this is also about what you want out of the lived experience. I enjoy mundane moments so to me there isn’t a need to max out on a state focused lifestyle.

Hey Leo, is Hong Sau a valid concentration technique?

Trying different concentration mediums. Already did visualized colour, then have been focusing on the feeling between two fingers for 2 months. Just asking because this isn't exclusively a mantra, its also breathwork.

I'm still on 1 minute for your finger concentration technique. When doing pranayama my focus isn't fully on the technique. I feel like it will take a bit of time before I can increase my time on the finger concentration.

I was reading over Hong Sau and thought it would be easier for me to do.

Sure, depends on the work.

If you are just adding numbers all day, no.

I don't know what that is.

Don't try so hard to concentrate in Kriya. Kriya will slowly rewire your mind to make concentration easier. Concentrating too soon is a waste of time. Allow time for the rewiring to kick in. Just do high quality pranayama for a year.

You made a post about fake healing. A related topic to it is fake future telling/predicting.

It’s pretty darn obvious, but still - these psychics/prophets are often pre-rational and their epistemology is complete trash.

And it’s not just about psychics. It’s basically about any „experts” who make predictions. And „normal” people too - including me. We make some predictions and gloss over 9 out of 10 that are completely wrong. But we pride in the 1 out of 10 that are correct. The self-deception is amazing.

@Sincerity Yeah, that's why I try not to make predictions.

My predictions are probablistic. Things that are likely to happen.
