Forum features - additional emoticons and dark mode

9 posts in this topic

Sorry if this the wrong section of the forum to post this. I couldn't find another that seemed more appropriate.

Anyone have access to emoticons beyond the 21 default faces? I ask because I could swear I've noticed people posting others that I don't seem to have. Just wondering how they're doing it.

Is there an option for a dark mode? If not, that'd be a great feature to add @Leo Gura! Though I understand it's probably difficult enough administering the site without worrying about adding non-essential features.

You can also use the emojis from your phone 🙃

I know @LSD-Rumi was testing an alternative way of using a “dark mode”, but it was causing his messages to appear weird.

Tricky! Thanks, that's probably what I'm seeing.

We can use a browser extension like Dark Reader to create an ad-hoc dark mode, but a built-in is usually better.

While using FireFox on iPhone, I've discovered that there is a built-in Dark Mode! How well it works depends on each website; it works surprisingly well across the Actualized website!

@integration journey Thank you!

I did discover a downside, however. For some reason, on iOS, when I open FireFox (and it’s already on Dark Mode), the scroll bar is dark gray (as opposed to light gray), and therefore it is unseeable. The workaround is I have to turn off Night Mode and turn it back on, then the scroll bar changes to a light gray color and I can see it again.

I don’t know if this is a FireFox app issue and/or iOS, but hopefully it gets fixed soon. But then again, it’s a minor inconvenience, and it was fun discovering this workaround!

Update: Can't make the forum dark on FireFox macOS for some reason.
