@electroBeam Dude, you're way overthinking it.
To understand the validity of a mathematical proof requires insight. Exactly the same kind of insight as enlightenment.
Just because you apply insight in the relative domain does not mean it is different in the absolute domain. Insight is a general function of consciousness. It can be used in all sorts of ways, from the mundane to the divine.
You can have a valid insight into how to boil an egg. Of course that insight is relative to you being a human in a physical world where there exist eggs. If you enter some 5 dimensional astral realm, boiling eggs may no longer work.

Teachers have different styles. This is why its good to study hundreds of different perspectives. Each one will expose you to some new facet that the other ones didn't.
Teachers place different emphasis on things due to their unique personality, cultural background, path through life, and even their gender or level of testosterone.
Never expect one teacher to explain everything to you. It just isn't possible.
In a sense, finding a teacher who you resonant with perfectly is bad because then you will tend to blindly accept what he/she says without thinking for yourself or considering other sources.
Focus more on grasping what is being taught in your direct experience rather than daydreaming about or judging the teacher.
The teacher you resonate with very much depends on what your particular needs are at this moment in time. In a few years, as your needs change, so will your teachers -- if you don't commit yourself to worshiping just one.
My teachings are definitely not complete, and definitely contain some mistakes and shadow. This is not a problem so long as you think for yourself, make use many sources, and do your reading. Just listening to me is not enough to succeed in this work.

Or maybe you just came up with it yourself?
Don't let the copyright fool you
There was no strain at all (except for the writing hand). It was comfortable and enjoyable.
There is little ego backlash these days. It's no big deal at this point. As the mind becomes more pure there are less and less problems over all and the trips are always positive and healing.

  4. Leo's Process For Creating Videos
    Leo's Process For Creating Videos
    Hi all,
In Leo's videos he sometimes touches on the topic of the process that goes into creating actualzed content, including steps such as:
    - Compiling multiple sources
    - Deep inquiry
    - Direct experience
-Note-taking an linking of ideas in a commonplace book
I was wondering if it has been described on this forum or in a video or blog post what this process usually looks like in slightly more detailed steps. For example, I imagine it may look something like:
    - Weeks / years of reading - initial exploration into a topic
    - Hashing out first ideas in commonplace book, based on books read and 'original' ideas
    - Continue to refine ideas / thoughts over a number of weeks,
    - Compile some sort of script for a video
    - Film the video with pointers from the script.
Even though the process may look slightly different for each video, I'm sure the general framework is similar, but the process I've outlined above may be way off the mark.
The reason I'm asking is I'm starting to explore deeply topics around how technologies impact on the human condition, and am looking for advice on how to better improve my research and writing.
Also if you have your own methods - please do share!
    Thanks,
    Tom

  6. Love as the origin of all creation - LSD trip report
Love as the origin of all creation - LSD trip report
I took 60-70 microgram of acid with my beloved one and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had.
I've already had a couple of awakenings, but this was my deepest one and it took me by surprise, as I only took a relatively small dose of acid. we're already pretty experienced at tripping together, so we are very in tune with each other. I can recommend tripping with your beloved one, as it can take connection to an incredible level and you can drag each other deeper (just make sure you absolutely trust one another) <3
so it started with the ayahuasca patterns the shipibo folk talk about: we saw them appearing on our bodies, later we saw them shimmering on every surface. we saw energy flowing from our hands, illuminating the whole room.
we were lying face to face and then suddenly I got dragged inside the aya patterns (not the first time, it already happened in my last yagé experience) it felt like being dragged through a giant meat grinder, my body being cut into countless slices and put together again. like dying and being born, again and again. it actually was so, so effortless: I kept in mind Leo's last video about letting go and that's exactly what I did. I let go of everything. I let go of every theory I've heard and read about, every idea, every belief. it was so effortless, it didn't even feel like dying. it felt more like a heavenly dissolving of 'me'
it was all very clear and controllable. my mind and ego completely dissolved and yet I perceived everything as sharp and clear. the boundaries between 'me' and her completely dissolved. also between 'me' and everything else. I was catapulted into infinity in infinite direction. I experienced infinite infinities in every infinity. the only thing in my mind was: oh my god, this is it, it's infinite! and it's all love
I have that desire to share enlightenment with others, to help people awaken. and I could clearly feel that that desire comes straight from my heart. it comes from a place of love. I could feel that love is the whole purpose, the purpose of life and ultimately of enlightenment. if an awakening experience does not culminate in love, than it's not the Absolute. the nature of it is infinite, that means infinite love
I wanted to share that with my beloved so badly, that my heart cracked open (I've never felt so much love in my life) and I concentrated on that, on pure love. then I perceived myself as an empty vessel, though which divine energy flows through and I sent it to her. thats when she started having the exact same experience as me (it was her first encounter with god, non-duality and divine love) and it brought her to tears. it was so, so beautiful to see. her words were oh my god, oh my god. that's when I knew, she's there. and when I knew: I can. I can be a vessel of divinity and love, if my desire comes from a pure, heartfelt space
we were the entire universe and expanded into infinite infinities, until we reached a point were we opened our eyes, looking at each other: we communicated telepathically and felt like we were 'outside' existence (I don't really know what that means yet): we saw each other as Shiva and Shakti, two gods giving birth to existence. we held our hands and felt like we were merging together. it was like making cosmic love to each other and creating all life and the entire existence in the process. it felt like we were creating the origin of everything. and the origin of all creation is love, pure, unconditional love
it was magic, absolutely incredible <3
my conclusions are: love is the highest. I don't actually care about insights and awakenings if they don't culminate in love anymore. and I want to share my experiences. what shall I do with all of this, if I can't share it?
I hope it can inspire some of you guys :3 thanks to Leo and all of you on this forum. I wouldn't be here where I am right now without you. I am so grateful <3

David Hawkins - some of my favorites
Every time I attach a new link from YouTube it shows as the video below, even if it's a different link? Does anyone know why this happens? I'll enclose the links and commentary to the others videos for now.

His book Letting Go is one of the most powerful and helpful books I've ever read. Not got so much into his other written stuff yet. I've been on Youtube checking out loads of his stuff, mostly concentrating on the shorter clips.
These are my top ones and I've included my highlights of them below (pretty much word for word what he says). You will also see time windows for each clip as these are my favourite parts of the clip.
I'm all in on letting go, surrender, and emotional mastery/sobriety hence my attraction to David Hawkins. I also love his persona on YouTube, it's suits me. He is funny at times, but not trying too hard to crack jokes or be overly charismatic which is a bit of a turn off for me.

    ·       The way out of depression is to face the underlying fear. ·       Depression, in a way, can’t be handled, except to look at what was not faced to pull you out of it ·       The fear usually takes the form of “I have lost the source of my happiness forever”, “Without this, my life is meaningless”

Then you are not stuck with the Karma of getting even

    ·       The willingness to surrender to not knowingness. ·       Humility is of profound importance in spiritual work. It means I of myself, as an ego, am completely unable to comprehend reality. I have no way of knowing the truth of anything, much less can I discern its karma, and therefore all judgment is up to God. Judgment is mine Seth the Lord. Why? Because you are not capable of it.

    ·       The technique is really that of surrender. It’s part of the love of God. Jesus Christ said that for the salvation of mankind would you be willing to give up your ego and the vanity of thinking that you know anything.  Each thought and feeling that comes up, you surrender it to God

    ·       How to move from one level of consciousness into another? There is only one rule, and that is to let go of the payoff you get from whatever positionality you are stuck in. ·       Forgo the pleasure, gratification, and satisfaction. ·       Secret payoff’s from the ego. We repress the fact that we are getting off on it ·       Lower levels of consciousness are linked together. Pride is linked with anger. Narcissistic core of the ego is gradually weakened and collapses. Each brick you take out, weakens the wall. ·       If you feel like you’re stuck, there is only one thing you need to do, one thing you need to surrender ·       The payoff is an energy. The payoff is blocking you from a higher state of consciousness.

  8. How To Go Beyond Post-Structualism Cognition?
How To Go Beyond Post-Structualism Cognition?
That's the whole problem of communication and abstract philosophical work. It's often impossible to really understand.
Some philosophical writing is abstract that there is literally not enough information in the book to clearly know when it meant.
Which is why I shower you guys with so many examples. It's only from lots of examples can you understand the abstractions.
Honestly, Kant is not worth your time to read. Kant is not nearly a profound as people make him out to be. Various distinctions he makes are confused and deluded.
If you want to read some good Western philosophy, try Plotinus or Berkeley.

  9. Simple Question: Did it work?
    Simple Question: Did it work?
The way you frame this is already a big problem.
This distinction you make between mindset problems and actual problems is itself a mindset problem!
What if all problems were nothing but your mindset towards them? Contemplate the significance of that.

  10. Afraid of absolute infinity
    Afraid of absolute infinity
Spirituality is about facing your fears and realizing that all fear is illusion.
The whole function of life is learn how to love vs fear. That is really the only thing you're doing here in life. Everything is just a variation on this theme. Take a look.

  11. How to stop enjoying pornography?
    How to stop enjoying pornography?
It's not about stopping enjoying it. It's about finding a higher purpose in your life, something that you find more meaningful.
You don't need to stop enjoying porn.
And there's nothing wrong with enjoying porn either. Porn is just part of the beauty of reality. Be grateful it exists.

  12. Advice on contemplation
    Advice on contemplation
If you are prone to depression then contemplation could be problematic in the sense that you will get lost inside your own mind. You have to careful here to balance between theory & practice. For a depressed person going to the gym might be more effective to change one's mood than contemplating on the couch about one's mood.
But it the long run you should build yourself up to the point where you can contemplate things without it driving you deeper into depression. As you become more developed and conscious it will be easier for you to let go of being stuck in your own mind. Kriya yoga & meditation helps a lot with this.
If all you do is sit and think (without any yoga or meditation practice) you will end up getting lost in your own mind. And this will create various kinds of dysfunction.
So watch out! The mind can be a very dangerous thing. Then again, being mindless can be even more dangerous.

  13. We need to discuss Post-Hoc Rationalisation
We need to discuss Post-Hoc Rationalisation
Most people are not interested in being aware of it because you'd be undermining their very way of life!
Self-deception is a VAST topic with many sub-topics. It's the bulk of how humans fool themselves into believing they are human.
The trick is that this stuff cannot simply be taught or explained, it requires deep self-reflection, contemplation, and consciousness work -- which virtually nobody is willing to do.
And even if you do it, you'll still get tripped up in self-deception. Self-deception does not joke around. It's seriously deceptive.

  14. The Hill's Sanders Interview
    The Hill's Sanders Interview
Bernie is more left than Warren obviously.
I prefer to elect the highest leader possible and let the chips fall where they may. The system will deal with it. Gradualism has been tried with Obama and it failed. Another 8 years of someone like Obama is going to make things even worse. The system needs some serious change of the status quo.
Bernie is not a Green version of Trump. Trump is a moronic lying narcissist. Bernie is an intelligent, honest, compassionate leader.
A Green version of Trump would be 20 year old Green Peace activist with bipolar disorder who wants to jail people for eating fish and force children to eat soy, who faces a criminal case for sabotaging factory farms.

  15. The majority of people are neutral on politics
The majority of people are neutral on politics
Majority of people are just for the status quo because they haven't even bothered to think of anything else.
And such people are extremely vulnerable to psychological manipulation, which is what media propaganda does.
Don't give the average person too much credit. 200 years ago, the average person would not have a strong opinion pro or anti slavery. They're just sheep following the herd off a cliff.
Yes, they may even be willing to listen, but they are not willing to think deeply about anything.
Neutrality is an extremely dangerous thing. It gets easily exploited by devils.

  16. The problem with open-mindedness
    The problem with open-mindedness
@Cykaaaa That's the whole point of epistemology: you don't know what you don't know.
It's very helpful be keep that in the back of your mind at all times.
Closedminded people will of course project their closedmindedness onto you. That is devilry 101. But be careful because you can easily fall into that trap yourself.
The point is that reality is such that you can never draw any clear & stable lines. When you deeply grok this, you stop worrying about drawing lines. Drawing lines is the chief human delusion. All drawn lines are imaginary.
I have not drawn any firm lines. I'm always open to being proven wrong.
But practically, I usually know when someone is bullshitting me because I have a lot of direct experience to fall back on. But even so, I'm still open because my understanding is never complete or perfect.
Someone like a far-right nationalist I would not even bother taking seriously. They are obviously and hopelessly unconscious. It's not worth the time reasoning with them because they are completely in denial about their self-biases.
Just because your mind is open does not mean you have to take every fool seriously.
As a good rule of thumb, before taking a person's intellectual position seriously, I first need to see that he/she has a basic understanding of self-deception and self-bias. If they do not understand the significance of self-deception or self-bias, I can basically guarantee they are deeply deluded and so I will never take them too seriously. I can still learn from them, but it's going to be small potatoes stuff.
Once you have some awakening to the Absolute, that gives you a nice ground for cutting through bullshit. Until then you're really lost in a sea of bullshit with no clear compass to orient yourself because you cannot even know if anything I say is true.

  17. Results of Self-Actualization/Spirituality = Tolerate EVERYTHING?
Results of Self-Actualization/Spirituality = Tolerate EVERYTHING?
It's both. Spirituality teaches you detachment. But you don't stop at detachment, you act from detachment with a sense of passion and purpose to improve the world.
One of my core teachings is: You are a creator. Not just a creator, but THE Creator. You are God!
God creates from a place of detachment. To be a powerful creator you must do it from a place of detachment.
The point of life is not merely to awaken but to experiment with being a powerful Creator. The creation is not do out of need or lack, but out of Selfless Love. Creation is its own joy, point, and reward.
This is a point which distinguishes my teaching from something like classic Buddhism, which is only concerned with awakening and escaping the dream. For me, the dream has value in that it allows for creation! This is God's sandbox! Create something cool which gives you joy and uplifts all living begins.
Tolerating everything will make you a very powerful creator.

  18. Pushing yourself vs. Flowing with life
Pushing yourself vs. Flowing with life
I see your point : for me the magical recipe was doin what I want and not should - also: playfulness.

  19. Letting Go vs Law of Attraction
Letting Go vs Law of Attraction
Really study the law of attraction, Abraham Hicks is awesome. It will help you to find peace with the paradox. She divides it into steps, and to summarize, we are really good at asking for things to be different but not good at letting go and letting life unfold. Both are equally important in understanding the law of attraction.

  20. My Analysis of Leo's Defense on Zizek's Buddhism Critique
My Analysis of Leo's Defense on Zizek's Buddhism Critique
This is my opinions on Leo's defense on Slavoj Zizek's Buddhism critiques. This is for fun. Nothing too serious but there are some important things I'd like to say.
I'm not a Buddhist but I use Buddhist techniques as a primary investigation towards what is true. I definitely understand Leo's arguments but Slavoj Zizek doesn't appear to have a sophisticated understanding of Buddhism. This seems evident not only from his arguments but also from his non-experiential and academic demeanor.
Here are some of the key points I'd like to talk about.
Zizek's argument: Life is suffering but not all of us wants to escape suffering. Falling in love (knowing that it will eventually lead to suffering) is given as an example to support this claim.
Leo's Defense: Suffering is only problematic from ego's perspective. God wants to experience all modalities of suffering and non-suffering as it is infinite. The reason there is so much love is that there is a lot of suffering. And that contrast of duality is the paradox of this work.
Suffering is a negative motivation and pursuit of what is true is more authentic and less egoic motivation. Suffering is delusional so once you become conscious of what is true, non-suffering comes as a part of the package. Suffering is there for survival purposes. It is there so that you don't put your hand on a stove.
My analysis: Both Leo and Zizek fail to make the distinction of pain and suffering to a clear degree for this argument.
Zizek doesn't seem to understand that from the ego's perspective, even the most pleasurable moment is tainted by suffering due to craving and aversion. This idea that not everyone wants to escape suffering comes from lack of experience. Lıfe, as known from ego's perspective, IS suffering both the pleasure and pain.
Ego wants to fall in life mostly because of the perceived pleasure it will bring. And it does that with a lot of craving and aversion. In this context, the ego is primarily dissatisfied without a relationship partner. It, then, realizes that falling in love comes with less suffering as a part of the package and accepts it without knowing a better alternative. Boredom and loneliness results in WAAAY more suffering compared to romantic relationships. So you are still running away from pain. The ego is just choosing the route that will result in less suffering. This is true for all egos.
Leo is correct for the most part. I'd personally also view the pursuit of truth as a less egoic and more authentic positive motivation. But that doesn't mean people who want to eliminate suffering is shooting themselves in the foot. Leo also suffers as an ego and it gets in the way of non-dual consciousness. Once the suffering goes away, the truth is revealed. So separating these as radically different motivation is splitting hairs as both forms of motivation leads in the same non-dual consciousness. You can't know which motivation will actually get you to awakening more effectively as both are different perspectives on the path considering that awakening is a multi-faceted jewel. That motivation difference is more to the do with personality types, value systems, past experiences and conditioning.
If you were a torture victim for the past 10 years, your primary motivation for awakening would be to escape from suffering by penetrating the experience of physical pain, not realizing what is true. On the contrary, if you were to spent the last 10 years discussing and thinking about philosophy, truth and science in relative comfort, your view of the spiritual path would be about realizing what is true. And non-suffering would come as a part of that pursuit.
Leo's motivation is more holistic and deeper but that doesn't devalue suffering as a motivation in the beginning of the path. In fact, I'd argue that suffering was at least a part of the reason why Leo started the path even as a truth seeker. As you go deeper, your motivations and value systems will change and become more holistic and deep.
Suffering is there for survival purposes is half-true. Pain is there for survival purposes. Suffering is how pain feels like from the ego's perspective. And ultimately suffering is an illusion because there is no self that can suffer.
Also about Leo's example: The non-dual consciousness would also not result in you putting your hand in a stove. You don't become stupid when you get awake.
You still experience pain as a raw sensation but there is no suffering anymore. You CAN turn this raw burning pain sensation into a pleasurable experience but when you are on that level of non-duality, would you even do such an act? You can do the same more effectively sitting on a chair and breathing. You might argue that on such levels of consciousness the distinction between breathing and putting your hand on a stove disappears but I'd say this as a counter-argument:
Deep Awakening not only results in compassion for others but also yourself as the distinction between 'self' and 'other' is transcended on a deep level. Deep Awakening doesn't turn you into a masochist for this reason. I know Leo is aware of this but his example gave the impression that awakening would result in such behaviors.
I agree with Leo's defense for the rest of the points.

  21. It seems I need to hit rock bottom in order to wake up and work on myself
It seems I need to hit rock bottom in order to wake up and work on myself
My life is kind like a mess. It’s not a huge mess, but it’s still a mess.
If I don’t stop eating sweets and candies, I’ll probably have diabetes.
If I don’t start consistently doing physical exercises, I’ll probably get fat.
If I don’t start messaging my friends, I’ll probably lose them.
If I don’t stop with this forum and other internet forums, I’ll probably be wasting useful time.
If I don’t start reading every day, I’ll probably never read more than 100 books in my entire life.
It seems I need to get really and very very sad and depressed in order to start doing things. I don’t think it’s a proper way of doing stuff.
How can I have emotional leverage without hitting rock bottom? How can I accomplish my dreams?
    Procrastination is a damn thing!

  22. What's your opinion on Master Degree Philosophy (Even PhD)
What's your opinion on Master Degree Philosophy (Even PhD)
You will have to be proactive and take responsibility for making it practical. Academia is not known for their practicality.
You need to have a vision for what you want to create, beyond just getting a degree. A degree means shit. What do you want to create for the world? That is the key question.
I think psychology is pretty decent. Of course it's scientific. It's a science! People do serious research in that field and that's important.
But if your goal is to improve your own psychology, for that you are better off studying self-help on your own.
Of course it would be highly valuable to scientifically study & validate various yogic truths. We need a lot more scientific research into spirituality.

  23. What's your opinion on Master Degree Philosophy (Even PhD)
What's your opinion on Master Degree Philosophy (Even PhD)
I have a BA in Philosophy.
Overall I was quite disappointed with it. So I gave myself a PhD in God. That solved the problem.

  24. Legalizing Psychedelic Substances
    Legalizing Psychedelic Substances
    This is an important topic.
Medically, psychedelics like MDMA and mushrooms will soon be approved by the FDA for clinical use. This will happen within the next 5-10 years.
Weed legalization is important toward the ultimate legalization of psychedelics, so we need more states legalizing recreational weed, and we really need a federal legalization of weed. This might happen within the next 5-15 years.
And then we just need the most progressive states like California, Oregon, Washington, NY, etc. to start legalizing mushrooms & LSD. This should start to happen in the next 5-20 years.

  25. Environmental crisis - how to deal with it psychologically?
Environmental crisis - how to deal with it psychologically?
The brutality of life is what makes it all the more beautiful. Try to see ignorance as love.
You can also start a life purpose to work on solutions.
If you love so much, why don't you become the leader and show the world how to love nature as deeply as you?
You could be the next Gandhi. What is stopping you from pursuing your highest love? When are you gonna realize you are a powerful creator?
Show the world what you got!
