@integral you got no kids or wife yeah?
Not sledging you at all. But... Got nothing to lose! You'll just need to reach out and connect with people who have done similar shit.
I work in this industry and no one knows what they are doing, I can assure you. Every project is so unique, it'll have shit you've never seen and solutions you've never used. To excel you just need to be a solutions problem solver. And drive at it.
Sometimes I run into huge design issues and have to take it off the hands of architects and engineers to keep the project going (just have to submit your proposal for approval). I call people, email, nag. PM people on social media I don't know. The results I get a purely because of my ability with people. I know how to motivate them help me. Approach it like that.
Even if you know a builder who knows a builder who has done something strange and off beat. Milk their brains for info. If you go a simpler box type place I'd contact people who have purchased them and the supplier. Suppliers just want money, but if you can find someone who has purchased and speak to them? Priceless. The internet is filled with fake reviews and slop.
There are no guides in construction - many ways to skin a cat as they say. You can build a house in a hundred different ways optimising for time, cost, quality etc as different metrics.
Pick up that phone and dial baby 😄 in construction it's all phone. Emails and texts are simply to act to have written evidence. Phonecalls get it done.
I listen to that Shia LaBeouf clip to motivate me on hard days NGL 🤣
