Setting up a OneNote, any beginners advice?
I just set up a python script that creats my daily note with all the necessary structure, pulls my tasks from the whole database and syncs it with my Google Calendar. And all I have to do is type 'python daily_drive.py'. If you are a techie/ nerd out on stuff like this, ain't no other option than obsidian.
P.S - you can use your notes as a contextual window for AI agents to help you with projects. I set up the script above in 10 minutes using this fact.

It's very good to have this sort of curiosity. I have the same. It's nearly impossible to get a good grip of every aspect of humanly knowledge but we can build general understanding of things. I have decided to develop expert knowledge of 2-3 areas. I suggest the same for you. You can get started by using AI chatting for general and specific information.

I realized we are absolutely slaves to fear, too soft in the west
@Staples I see your point, and I agree, but from the lens that I'm currently looking at it, there is still deep fear inside that is not being conquered if you're just coasting through life handling things and adapting contextual to the circumstances. At the end of the day, you're still a deeply fearful person inside, but its masked. No deep work has been done to conquer those fears. I'm looking at it, in this case, from the angle that say this girl would look at a typical westerner given the fears she had to conquer in her life, which I don't think Ive seen many people do.

  8. I realized we are absolutely slaves to fear, too soft in the west
I realized we are absolutely slaves to fear, too soft in the west
I completely accidentally came across the most mind-blowing podcast episode I ever listened to:
For years, on and off I'd look into the history of North Korea, get some shocking insights, and go about my life.
Of course, in the media these days we are forced to look into Israel, global politics, Gaza, Russia, China, etc. And of course, all these are absolutely critical things to look into. I'm not taking away from that.
But this specific episode gives you a first hand account, where you're actually in her shoes as she goes from one "planet" to another "planet" to another "planet" (North Korea to China to South Korea to USA)
But I was really thinking about it. Very specifically, the psychology of North Koreans, and especially this girl who escaped North Korea to come to USA, just think about the psychology change. It is quite literally like going to a new planet. In fact, if us americans had to live on Mars, I believe that's still less of a shock to our system then this girl coming from North Korea to USA. Just to give you perspective, when she reached South Korea, her first taste of freedom, she was so terrified of the freedom. In North Korea, absolutely everything is controlled, except your breathing. So you literally don't think for yourself. She says there is no "I" vocabulary. It's only "we". She just followed orders. So to even just think for 5 minutes when she reached freedom in South Korea, learning to live in this world we all live in, she got very exhausted after just 5 minutes of thinking. That's how hard thinking was for her.
And now she's very well-educated, well-spoken, intelligent, compassionate, and is a public speaker, even talked to the UN, etc. I mean I started reflecting on my life, and realized how soft I am, and most americans are.
Just contrast that way of life I described to most americans lives:
video games, devices all day, staying in your room all day, food just handed to you.
She was describing how her friend in US would complain about some guy not calling her back, and it was shocking to her because that's such a small problem compared to what she went through. These are often our biggest problems in US, some stupid relationship issue, or whatever.
I personally have OCD, so I noticed something strange, I get so perfectionist at times, that even when I open the bathroom door, I have to make sure I'm going about that right. It's hard to articulate. But my point is, we are not exposed to deep uncertainty. This girl was. She had no choice. If her mom left to get food, she had no clue when she'd be back or if she'd even come back. When she's going through the desert to get to South Korea from China, she had no clue if she'd get shot at the border or not. She was prepared to die (brought poison along with her). We in the west need so much certainty: We need to know what everything around us is, we look for the people around us to make sure we're in safe environments doing safe things, we outsource our critical thinking to AI and other human beings and authority. This is just one angle of a multi-faceted angle of how fearful we are, how soft we are.
I really then took a hard look at how fearful I am, and here's what I came up with:
We spend decades in fear of other humans, innocent, harmless humans, often caring humans, to talk to these humans. Why? It's honestly so shocking if you think about it, this idea of avoidance of other humans out of social anxiety. It's so petty, when looked at directly. If we weren't so soft, I don't think this would be an issue at all. And what about all the other petty sht we fantasize about for hours and hours a day, petty motivations we pursue for decades out of fear of not pursuing a much higher purpose, a higher purpose that makes these petty fantasies look like a dream you woke up from.
Sorry to go on a rant, but I've been in this personal development game for many years now and I guess this was just a really big wake up call for me. I'm going to now make some important changes in how I live my life. I need to learn fearless living. I think its absolutely underrated just how fearful we are. It's masked, so utterly masked by modern living. I'm not saying I'm right about all this, Im sort of just thinking this through, but yeah changes need to be made.

  9. y can't we figure out how to control reality?
y can't we figure out how to control reality?
We can. Using the mind. Through thoughts, beliefs and programming. Dropping all beliefs that doesn't serve you. Put no emotion to thoughts that doesn't fit into your desired goal. Knowing yourself to be the One and All. Your awareness needs focus, attention and intention. Intention is the engine. Do not see yourself as an individual trying to control your reality but to see yourself as the only reality and the All there Is and that everything is within you and generates from you.
Purchase the book Spiritual Responsibility by Dr Shawn Smith and read it. It will give you the step by step process. I'm currently on it now. Also, go visit the "Powerful (The Mind)" section of the forum in the Spirituality section and check out some of the corresponding videos.
The reason I'm going all in now is because I've tested it here and there with the little I know and have seen results time and time again in small ways. My subconscious has accepted this to be true now and so it will become a part of me and easier to do once I've dedicated my time and energy to really dig in. I've seen enough to have sealed the cake and my belief needs no rewiring in this case.
The fact that i even see this question here today after deciding this morning that I'm going to dig in with all I have to study this, sealed the cake again and the book I'm reading - when I went on yt after dinner to just do a quick browse, the first video to pop up was a live from the book's author that I just started reading this morning and i haven't seen a video from him in like 2mths, and I didn't do any searches for him. It just popped up. The mind is very powerful if we just know how to use it.

This is how technology has always worked.
    Email made the mailman broke.
In order to make a living in life requires constant adaptation to new technological environments.
You can't just expect to be safe as a mailman forever. That's not how life has ever worked.
The #1 rule of life: Adapt or die.
It is your job to get on the winning side of every new technology. And if you don't, don't be surprised when you end up screwed.

  13. Trump shot at again (shocking)
    Trump shot at again (shocking)
Of course it is an undemocratic act.
But the right-wing in America, and especially MAGA, has lost any right to cry about undemocratic acts.
It is precisely because the right-wing doesn't care about democracy and is actively assaulting democracy at every level -- politically, economically, via corruption of the media, electorally, legally, morally, and spiritually -- that we on the left do not buy your crocodile tears about democracy.
The entire case against Trump has been that he will corrupt and prevert democracy. And that is exactly what he has done and continues to do without shame. Right wingers think that they can get away with corrupting democracy and things will turn out well for them. But any student of history knows that's not how this works. If Trump continues to corrupt democracy, he will end up dead from his own stupidity.
When you flame hatred, guess what? You get hatred in return. When you corrupt the courts to escape justice, people take justice into their own hands. This corruption is Trump's doing and he is responsible for it no matter how much the right-wing fingerpoints at the left.
This is obvious to anyone with a serious understanding of politics. Which is why we have been saying Trump is unqualified for office. It's only MAGA fools who think they can promote hatred and lies against the Dems without consequence.
Assassination is wrong. But Trump doesn't care about right and wrong. So he has no grounds to complain. Assassination is illegal, but Trump breaks the law all time. This is the problem with supporting Trump. You are supporting incoherent garbage but then crying about it when it blows up in your face.
The entire case against Trump is that his corruption will blow up in your face. Trump's corruption, hatred, and devisiveness cannot be free. It comes with a big cost. The cost is what we see playing out in the media. And it could easily get much worse. But right-wingers wanna fuck around and find out. Then they will do the surprise Pikachu face and blame everyone but themselves.
In the end, everything related to Trump will collapse, die, and lose. The only question is how much collateral damage will America incur?
Tldr: the man shitting in the pool doesn't get any sympathy when he ends up getting some shit in his eye. If you want us to care about shit in your eye then first stop shitting in the pool.

Setting up a OneNote, any beginners advice?
@shenanigans It's so customizable that you really have to just go through and familiarize yourself with its features, but here are a few tips you might find useful. Number 1 is a must IMO.

Aside from that, get good and formatting text with the keyboard.

I highly recommend the code editor shortcuts so you can better manipulate the text. You can select multiple instances of words, have multiple cursors, delete lines, all sorts of stuff.
    Control + b - bold
    Control + i - italic
    Wrap any text in "== ==" to highlight. e.g: ==I'm highlighted==
    - + space to create a list

Also, go through the "core plugins" and figure out what you don't need and turn everything else on.

Also, for me, the aesthetic is really important. I couldn't get into obsidian until I built a custom theme for it. You can customize the font, colors, everything.

@Husseinisdoingfine I say this with all love, and I appreciate you putting yourself out there for people to learn lessons from your experience and mistakes, as there are many youngsters on this forum who are around your age, lost, and not courageous enough as you to ask for help and guidance from others.
I've seen @Leo Gura share this advice so many times to youngsters in their 20s on this forum, and how it's far too early in many cases for them to heavily be involved in spirituality at their age when they are still living with their parents like your case, and financially dependent on them in many cases.
Despite not having joined the forum yet, for many years I've seen you post and engage on this forum about soo many topics, at your young age, you've spent far too much time on this forum on high-level topics that you should focus on once your basics are done.  Your focus should be to put aside high-level topics for now until your bases are covered, and instead focus heavily on the basics like "cleaning your room" and work your damn ass off now, getting clear on what you need to do to build up your financial freedom and covering your bases so that you can have a life where you have the freedom to develop spiritually

Don't go out to intentionally approach. Just start approaching and saying hi on a whim when going to the grocery store or getting gas or something of that nature. Don't put pressure on yourself and start to open up and see everyone as an extension of yourself who are also having their own challenges in life. You never know whose day you might brighten just from saying hi and giving them a smile without expecting anything in return - might be your own. Much love.

    Sending you love brother❤️
I also dislike my degree. In fact, I wished I was stupid enough so that they would have kicked me out long time ago to pursue a major that suited me like psychology or philosophy. I was intelligent enough to pass which made me complacent to long suffering and heart breaking inner dissonance. I many times wished I would have failed before so that I would have been forced to take a path aligned with my strengths and values. So you had the blessing I asked for. Take advantage of it. This is a gift in disguise, may you see it as an opportunity!
Don't fall into the sunk cost fallacy. A retreat in time is a victory.
You are one decision away of living a more fulfilling life.
    Lots of Love brother ❤️

@Husseinisdoingfine, do your parents understand you most of the time? If yes, then why is it hard for you to ask their help if you can't or don't want to do it alone?
You have said in one of your previous posts that you want to prove to your ego that you can continue. What is this but a delusion, as you clearly see that it's not going the way you thought.

Because you're stressed out and exactly because you care so much.
Someone else would explore, play, learn, and let their mind wander in creativity, rewarding themselves over successes.
But you're stressed, anxious, obsessed, uncertain, incoherent, repeating, beating yourself up at every opportunity.
Of course, you're gonna have a hard time, your self-worth is down the sewer, and you're not taking care of yourself.
Imagine screaming at a kid 24/7 about having to pass the subtraction test to survive and not giving them room to breathe.

Grades and school really is your bane man. I'm not mocking. I'm serious.
You're making the same thread every now and then. You're in a loop. Break out! I know it's easy to say, but really notice that you're dealing with the same thing ALL THE TIME. You're in a literal eternal hell of repetition. As soon as you REALLY confront and banish that monster (which is quite a bit of consciousness work) you'll finally find a bit of peace.

You think that because you are a passive sissy and base your self-esteem on what is presented to you by default and distances you a little from marginality.
Even if you had succeeded, you would still be depressed, because you were not made to keep up ; Men enjoy and even become attractive by venture, even if it is risky.

Who Loves Post-Modernism? - New Video
I've even noticed that people can fake being post-conventional.
I've met people who are certainly conventional who present post-conventional, but as soon as things don't go their way they demonize and use black-and-white thinking behind closed doors. Sneaky...
So definitely don't peg someone at one stage even just going by how they talk. How they act and strategize is an even better indicator.
