  1. Man this is a great place to be.

You realise that all the material goals are hollow. Now you won't be a rat your whole life and chase after them, until you are dead. This is when your inauthentic motivations disappear. Your authentic motivations will come about. You will see that you will stop forcing yourself to work. As, you truly would want to do that "work" more then anything else in the world.

This state is more loving then inauthentic motivations. Because from these authenticies you will be doing the things you actually love to do in the present moment. Not expecting or caring about a reward in the future. You will not be harsh with yourself  for not meeting a target, because there is no target.

Man it's scary. Most of my life I see that my motivations are inauthentic. I do it for social status, because I cared what people thought about me, to please my family, to fit in, to fulfill my mind's desires. All this crap is like a fog. Preventing you from seeing what your heart wants to do in the moment. I find it sad that I sacrificed love for myself, in order to fulfill other people's/my conditioning's expectations of me.

  2. When I notice a judgement. I am more aware of what it is. When it arises. Why it arsies. It's just part of my previous conditioning and a way my mind views the world. No substance to it, not valinidy to it, no reason for it. If you unconsciously accept this judgement it locks your mind DOWN. I think this is an important step to realise this.

What do you guys do when you judge another? Do you just watch it arise and dissiapate. Do you not then later indulge in that judgement. Or do you question the judgement to reach the core of its arisal?

  3. @WaveInTheOcean

Yeah I was similar with you. I was good at high school maths and physics. When I started uni, the level of difficulty increased massively. I still liked that maths but the physics was very abstract. The theories we learnered didn't really see any practically. Once I completed the second year there was only a couple of physics modules I enjoyed which were nuclear and particle physics, and quantum mechanics. Then the third year was interesting as we could learn GR in mathematics. But overall, there were more modules I didn't enjoy then I enjoyed. But the modules I enjoyed, I FUCKING loved to study. I guess this is the reason why I don't want to take a masters on physics. It seems like you have to enjoy all of it. And I am more willing to learn a different aspect of life. I think I have got the most out of that degree.

To study these subjects you really have to love it. That's the only thing which will get you through to the top. They are so abstract, and challenging. The only thing which will help you is hard work. If you slack of and not stay with problems long enough you might as well find something else.

Yeah science creates models. These models don't represent the truth of reality. But that's fine, many of my peers accept this. What is fascinating is how all these abstract and crazy ways of looking at the world, has managed to build and create the infrastructure of society. Also, I love thinking about the world working in a certain paradigms. Like the existence of virtual particles, even through their creation violates the conservation of energy in a subatomic interaction (that's why they are virtual, they are only allowed to exist for a short time in the universe). This is due to the Heisenberg uncertainty with energy and time. You can never measure energy and time of a quantum mechanical system with certainty. Mathematically speaking. So if energy is violated, that can happen but only for  short time frame. This is the explanation of how 3 forces mediate and work in our universe. Now does that happen...?

Who the fuck knows. But this description of the strong, weak and electromagnetic force can predict all of things about future events in the universe. Also advance technology etc.

Even if our mathematical laws are created by our forms of logic. The system is self consistent within itself, even though it might not be true. And these self consistencies allow us to build the remarkable models, which we can use to probe into the nature of the universe. It crazy to see how to relationships in different fields of mathematics, can be linked together in the most elegant way. This is all built on simple groundless axioms. That is what I find fascinating. Given that, these physical models can get a bit ridiculous in my opinion.

I personally wouldn't learn philosophy in uni. Because when I talk to philosophy students and friends, it seems dull. They don't really study the stuff we talk about here. But if you think there is a uni, which offers a good syallbus then go for that. I am only talking about philosophy from my universities perspective. Consider becoming a autodictat.  I basically self taught myself my degree. There is little support for students. So why pay all this money? Self teaching is the future. You learn what you want to learn. Not what they teach you. Because a lot of what they teach you won't suit you. You just have to power through that when studying at an institution.

  4. Ok. I am coming to the end of my degree in maths and physics. It's been fun, learning some crazy stuff this year. My favourite was studying general relativity. If any of you like maths and physics. Learn this topic. The elegance of differential geometry, generalising the theory of flat spaces you learn in school, combined with space-time has brought me to tears.

Basically, I wanted direction as I am not gunna pursue physics. I spent time strategising about my life. And come up with 6 things that give me the most joy. This is is so powerful. I feel so much more clear headed now. I want my life to embody these 6 things. Keep the list broad and not specific, because that can lead to perfectionism.

Maybe the combination of all the qualities is where my Life Purpose lie hidden...

  5. I love this question. I have recently been playing around with it.

If you can get to a state where your mind is calm and quiet. Leo's "Next level of mediation" video is good for that. If you can't then it is fine.

when you get to that state of mind ask:

"what would my life be like if language and thought didn't exist"

"What would happen to my past or future if language or thought didn't exist"

You can replace "if language or thought didn't exist" with "if I wasn't allowed to use language or thought ever again"

Look at what the present moment reveals to you

@Huz Your list is quite interesting and I'd like to know what do you mean by spiritual purification. What is the goal of it ?

It is a set of certain techniques. I think they all try to achieve the same thing within the person practicing it. That is, to give one the ability to experience life with complete deattachment from it. That doesn't mean to say abstain and run away from life... Something I have been gulilty of. But to live life without any emotional triggers. When you are attached to things, you notice within a deep and sharp emotional and mental reaction. Deattachment is the abseance of these triggers, and spirtual purification is a path to get there. They are techniques which purge your neurosis.

  7. It seems the two are linked. They are the same mechanism. The experience of your conscious mind, is generally an experession of your subconscious. Now this can be scary. As, if your experience is full of fear and anxieties. You know it is because there is a dark beast lurking within yourself that needs tending too.

But yeah you are right. Don't worry what is happening in the conscious domain. You have no control of it. Instead take the certain reactions and triggers to dig deep and work with your subconscious. To allow true cleansing and healing to occur.

I always used to deal with my external problems. And always used to get the same results. This is a futile battle. The work happens on the inside. Then the problem with never present it self to you again.

  8. I wanted to make a quick list

    Here's my list:

    • Mediation.
    • The questioning and doubting of your fears. Taking action on proving them wrong.
    • Visulisation of your aura, which makes you invinsible to the outside.
    • Contemplation.
    • Taking days out doing absolutely nothing to face yourself.
    • @Martin123 emotional healing page.
    • The use of psychedelics in the correct fashion.
    • Making your every day descions consciously. And realise every small thing you do counts and adds up.
    • Shinzen young recommended that it is important to take time to do intense practice. So maybe spending a couple years at a monastery?...
    • Shadow work (various techniques).
    • Wim Hoff breathing seems so fucking powerful to me.
    • Ice baths...?
    • Changing your diet to veg, fruit and nuts.

If you guys have got any powerful techniques can you list them here. I am finding it difficult to find powerful techniques other then these.

  9. @Shin  I have overcome some powerful addictions. Smoking, drugs (used to do mdma, chronic weed, and others by-myself/with friends when 18), alcohol dependence, meat.

However, my main addications today are porn, sugar, overthinking. These I found to be the hardest to budge. I accept myself fully for them, they are a part of my life and I love that. I would happily live with these addications for the rest of my life if that's the way it has to be. But, it seems watching the sensations and doing nothing doesn't really work. I have been doing that with these addications for 3/4 of a year. It seems like it works for a month or two, but then I crash back to square one. It feels more like an absitance then dealing with the addications.

I think the reason why is because I have been addicted to all 3 since I was a young boy. Eating sugar and being fat since 8/9 (lost the weight now though :)). Watching porn mostly every day for a decade, since like 12. And being a very mathematical minded and logical person since childhood. (The only exception is meat. I was eating that for my whole life. From 7-20. But some experiences shifted my perspective on that and I gave it up with little resistance.) Maybe it just takes more work and love and that would help drop them...

I really notice the difference with the 2 sets of addications I have given. With the first set, I noticed with each one of the addications, there was a shift in me. Once this shift happened I easily gave them up. It was surprisingly easy, and haven't gone back to any of them after years. The the second set is a lot harder.

But do you have any advice? Would love to hear peoples on here ideas :D

  10. Addications are your ways of escaping from the truths of life. We as humans are addicts, espically in our societies, there are so many things to keep us distracted from doing deep inner work. This takes us out of the present moment and when you are addicted to things, I think you aren't truly living.

I have addictions and working to overcome them. One way is Leo's do nothing technique. When you just watch them and allow your urges to arise, but not indulge in them. It feels like reality is beating you up. I was just wondering, is this method of overcoming addications the same as spirtual purification Leo is talking about in his retreat videos?

(ie the less you are addicted to things the more spiritually purified you are, so a good metric of measurement of purification?)

  11. So I have been mediating for 1.5 years now. Gone on retreats. I average an hour a day at the moment in my daily life. There are times where I think I have lost the fucking plot and there are times which are so blissful.

I think in my life I have had some great experiences leading to now. But I am getting to the point in my practice where sitting down, doing nothing and letting go has become the most enjoyable thing to do in my life. This feeling is also bleeding into my daily life. I dunno, it's kinda weird because I don't care about all my goals and shit anymore. Does anyone else get this feeling? Maybe this is a life purpose right here. Doing fucking nothing and maybe 10 years down the road when I mastered that, I can teach people how to do nothing also.

  12. I have been at the point many a times through this journey. There have been times where I experience deep fulfilment. However, these are short and often end with a surplus of depression and anxiety. These fears can feel so strong that they can prevent me from doing things that would help allievate them.

This has honstley been the most helpful piece of advice I have got (and I have searched for years to rid myself of this state). That is to LOVE these feelings to death. When you experience depression, go into it. Why not discover what depression actually is? Ask, what are the sensations and perceptions that constitute for my depression? You will see they are not as bad as they are. I find it's all the bullshit and stories my mind adds onto the feeling which make them feel 10times worse. You can actually get to the place where you heavily enjoy these sensations. I am not joking. When these feelings arise within me I am so much more loving to them. I am getting to the point where I find them pleasant. This is the power of being mindful over life. Things can't really hurt you as much anymore. We have all these expectations of how should or should not feel. Imagine if we didn't have any of these expectations. Then our lives would truly be free, as any feeling or any moment will make you feel complete. Because this is life.

You can always do this while work on other aspects of your life to reduce these intense feelings. They go in tandem. Like also doing what jjer45 said.

From my experience I see depression as a signal for change, it's my psyche telling me I am not living they way I want to. So I take it as something valuable. It's led to start improv, talk to more people, cook more, play squash, and be on a mission for me to find my passion. The sensations of depression is a part of nature and your psyche. Love that. It wants to be loved. The more you fight it the more angry it will become. It wants to be truly heard.

I hope this helps. Much love to you and your journey. Isn't life beautiful <3

My brother and his wife tried some 5-meo. Works great on her, but not so much on him. He's very logical. She's very spiritual.

Seems like some brains might not be designed for spirituality. Which makes sense, because it explains why most of the world isn't into Truth. The majority of humans are probably designed to be worker-bees to sustain the hive. We can't have everyone running around being a hippy. That's my pet theory for now.

Isn't your mind logical? It can seem like that from the way you go in depth and speak about you videos. I think you mentioned it before anyway.

But are you like your brother or you brother's wife in terms of how Meo affects you?

    have you used it yourself?

I have done it about 10 times, it has reduced my sense of self alot, as in less identification with thoughts, also the feeling of being a separate self has reduced. more of an expended sense of self, these things result in less suffering. also i think of a result of 5meo i get glimpses of this '' no thing '' people talk about.

i think the most beneficial effect of it is it reduces the feeling of being a separate self, the reason we have the experience of being a separate self is because we feel like a separate self.

only negative is i get hangovers from it, but i use alot. some people say its scary, i never found that i enjoy it.

I haven't tried it yet, but interested in how people are doing while using this substance. I going experiment with 4-ACO-DMT for a while before I get involved with Meo. But need to wait until my exams are over for that. Apparently this substance has a huge potential for spirtual growth and stuff so can't wait. Seems more introspective and smooth then shrooms from my research. I always though mushrooms are a bit nauseous even when I make a tea, so should be good

It's not because you're an "introvert". It's your FEARS that are draining you.

Of course if you're feeling intense emotions and you can't be at ease, you're going to feel drained.

You need to work on your psychology. You need to examine your fears and resolve them in your psyche. So that when you go out and socialize you don't feel like you're going to war.

Chances are it's a massive web of issues, and not just one little thing you need to fix. Observe your own behaviours, thought patterns and emotions, and start documenting them in a journal so you can work through them, and slowly unravel your issues over time.

Also watch out for the reasons why you're doing nofap. Probably out of dogma, because you've been brainwashed into thinking it'll make you more socially confident, which is a false belief. That also can add massively to the stress and anxiety you experience around others, because in reality you're still feeling anxious, because the root problems are still there, and on top of that, you are also sexually frustrated, because you are denying your natural sexual urges. Having regular orgasms is also good for stress release, and if you actually resolve your problems at the root, you can totally fap in moderation and also feel confident and at ease in social situations.

Of course having a healthy diet also helps a lot.

Yeah I do feel it is the fears. This that is kinda of the work I am doing at the moment, which is why not drinking is so pivotal for this process to me.  If i were to drink these fears would still be kept from my awareness.

    So thanks for your advice!!!

I am doing no fap as an experiment. I want to see what happens if I don't touch my donger for a period of time. If nothing happens then I masturbate moderately. If it seems to have benefical effects I will masturbate infrequently. But I had a huge addiction to porn. Been watching that shit since I was 12. I tried to masturbate w/o porn, but I would always end back watching porn. So I decided to stop all for a while. Along with meditation, no fap had brought up so much shit that I used to suppress when watching porn and i am exited by this.

I am interested to know why you think nofap is dogma? Sure it could be, but that can only be proven if it is tested out for real. Not by assuming that it is just dogma. So have you actually done nofap before?
