Legalizing sex work?

43 posts in this topic

Curious to hear your opinions on this. Is the Sweden's forbidding approach more reasonable or should we adopt the Netherlands approach of legalizing it?

Or US approach of "If you film it, it is legal" 😆

It should be legal. The only reason why it is illegal is because of antiquated morals about sexuality. Legal sex work is an opportunity to regulate the industry, which helps protect women from abuse. What we see when an industry is considered taboo is that it doesn't get regulated properly and harmful practices propagate, such as with the dildo industry. Many dildos are made of PVC which is toxic to humans.

The one disadvantage that I do see with legalizing sex work is that we live in a world that is largely conservative in regards to purchasing sex. This can result in sex tourism to a particular spot, for example with the Netherlands, where the area then becomes a hub for the trafficking of women from abroad.

Bottom line is that sex work isn't going anywhere. It can only go underground, so it is better to make the business transparent and regulated.

I agree, I am just thinking about how well these girls are are feeling by doing it. Some might enjoy it but most of them might do it because they need money which is very sad.

The Nordic model doesn't work. Though I believe it should be legal.

Most people work just for the money.

It can definitely be sad however considering that the low barrier to entry is why many women enter the trade in the first place. I think it will always be flawed in that way because in the world we live in there will always be girls lacking in resources and love. In a flawed world, prostitution is a genuine survival strategy.

These girls aren't out there enjoying the act, no. They just tolerate it and do their job. Porn is different. You'll find most enjoy it their but mostly because they're drugged up. It's not common to find females enjoying sex with strange men. Also bear in mind the sex industry doesn't always involve intercourse. Sex work entails a variety of things.

Nothing to do with morals. These law makers don't care about morality. It's mainly because these girls aren't paying taxes. Just like selling drugs, drug dealers don't pay taxes. They legalized marijuana and now they're getting their cut. It's a lucrative business. Always look at the monetary side of things before you see morality. People's best interest isn't in mind when it comes to making laws, it's about dollars and cents.

Now, in order to legalize the sex industry a lot has to be considered, that's why it's not that popular. Not sure of all the details but nothing to do with morals. Neighborhoods and vicinities are sometimes a factor because of what goes with the industry. Ilm referring to the US anyway.

Yes it is about the morals, ask your grandma what she thinks about legalizing it. and the majority of stage blue people think the same. Then it comes stage green with feminism and protection of women, they also want to forbid it. But if you forbid it, the criminal gangs will take care of it and treat the porstitutes 10 times worse. There is a huge demand of this service even if we agree with it or not.(I don't and will probably never need it I hope)

Grandma ain't making the laws. Sorry. Most people in politics are stage red or orange. I noticed you didn't mention these stages. Even the so-called stages you've mentioned have engaged even if it's by patronizing.

Of course, a lack of political will is the greatest obstacle to get anything done. Cultural attitudes are a legitimate obstacle however. Legalizing weed would be lucrative for the state but it is only progressive places in the world where it is actually legal for example.

How could one argue that sex work should be illegal? If one person wants to have sex for money and the other wants to purchase why is that illegal? And with legalization could come better safety and other oversight.

It's crazy you could be put in jail for having sex with someone for money

Dollars and cents. Get locked up, spend a few hrs in jail, go to court, pay the fine, REPEAT.

Wives and gfs are having sex for money, indirectly, all the time but noone notices. Not even the husbands. Then they discriminate against hookers when their wives are just glorified hookers in disguise. Let's see when the divorce gets settled who is taking half.

A wife offers much more than sex to a husband I guess. But then hookers can't understand that because like they say one can't make a h* a housewife.

Hookers don't need to understand that. That's besides the point. Anybody with any sense understands that. I'm not referring to all wives. Some are only in it for the money. Again, we all know that. Not all, but some. The only difference there is a commitment and a piece of paper. My point was not to say can't make a hoe into a housewife, that was irrelevant. It was to say some wives marry for dollars and there's no difference other than what I stated. I've seen too much hypocrisy in this field to even flinch with what people have to say about it.

To go even further, there's no difference between a guy who just wants to get laid by any chick for free and someone paying. Take the piece of paper out the picture and what's the difference. At least in the field it's straight up with no manipulation tactics and on the regular (without paying) most guys just brag and boast about how many chicks they can score, at least the fucking hookers are getting paid. So don't be hating on chicks who gets paid for what other girls who aren't in relationships or married do for free without any commitment. Guys always talking bout women but can't see the hoe in themselves. It's all over this goddamn forum. I don't see not one female up in here trying to get laid up just for the sake of laying up. A bunch of hoeing men in here just want to get laid, so you can stay there bout can't make a hoe into a housewife, they don't want to be. Don't need to be, because all some housewives do is stay home cook, clean, and become sex slaves.
