Travelling for massive life experience

@RawJudah I traveled and stayed in Mongolia for over a month. Best 6 weeks of my life. From learning to speak the language, to hiking Bogd Khan mountain which overlooks the capital city, to dating multiple girls, to meeting several nomads in the countryside, to camping and waking up to 1000/10 sunrises, to eating their unique and delicious cuisine, ya there's a lot to be gained. The touristy stuff i did was the least valuable. The main reasons i went was 1) for graduate research and 2) to date women on my off time.

What are you specifically traveling for?? Your sounding unsure about your decision makes me believe you don't have a specific objective. What's important to you?

Those are great reasons to go travelling, thank you for your input!

Some of my reasons I’ve said in my original post at the start, and others I’ll keep to myself. But the main reason is purely life experience. I feel like I’m stuck in a rut in life at the moment and I’m doing the bare minimum. Work, gym, come home, eat, sleep. I know there’s nothing wrong with that and it is what most people do. But I want to get out in the world a bit more and see what life has to offer. I’m 30, I have socialised massively up until the last couple of years and now is the age most people ‘settle down’. I don’t want that quite yet. It’s almost like the older you get the less energy you have to do things.

Hope that gives you some idea!

You should generally discard things that Leo says that do not resonate with you. The reason they do not resonate with you is because it either doesn't apply to your situation, or because the way you're interpreting what Leo is saying simply isn't true for you. Never let something Leo says decrease your vibration, or pull you away from what you know will grow you. For example, you clearly generally know that this travel idea will lead to a lot of growth for you, but your interpretation of what Leo has said in the past regarding travel has made you suppress this intuition.

Everyone here has answered your question but I thought I should write down this more general perspective.

That’s a mature, amazing answer, thank you so much. I’ve been listening to Leo for many years now and I know what he says in a lot of his videos seem true to me. I’ve experienced in real life some of the things he talks about… But yeah, we do have to think for ourselves. He doesn’t know our life stories or what situation we’re all in.

I always wonder if I was fine before I started watching any ‘self help’ at all hahaha…

My current situation is ‘ok’. I 100% need to change things in my life, and I think taking a year out to go to New Zealand for a complete change of life for 1 year will help me. I’ve been working since I was 18 non stop. Tomorrow I turn 30. Staring down the gun of a mortgage that I know isn’t the right time. or maybe I should buy a house?! Either option ain’t a bad one I guess…

That's probably best. Ignorance is bliss.

@MsNobody Why don’t you collaborate with Leo on the psychedelics course? I think he can use your energy.

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie

Terence McKenna says that the closest thing to a psychedelic experience is traveling. Not sure if you have experienced them but 8 years ago I started traveling and was obsessed with it. Until I tried psychedelics and discovered that there is a whole universe within myself to explore.

What both have in common is a kind of reset, a temporary stoppage of habitual thought patterns due to novel experience.
