I wish I had the footage of my interaction with a Police Chief after I had accidentally broken a serious traffic law (driving the wrong way). At first, he was making all these assumptions about me and making me out to be the bad guy, but as soon as I opened up to him the truth (that I was at the grips of depression and likely about to kill myself), it’s like a lightbulb switched on and then the whole situation had a complete shift. He became empathetic, warm, and compassionate to me while still giving me the proper consequences for my action.

We both saved each other that night!
