Is it bad to not care about truth?

11 posts in this topic

Honestly the reason I'm here is not because I want to know the true nature of existence or achieve God consciousness. I just want to lessen my suffering.

The majority of my life has been spent in severe depression and suffering because this material world has not given me what I want as a biological human (love belonging needs, certain defiency needs) along with having a chronic pain condition for 3 years.

The reason I watch Leo's videos and scour through posts here is not in the pursuit of truth or to understand consciousness , but simply because I think it'll give me the tools to escape my suffering,  but if someone said "take the redpill and you will attain enlightenment" or "take the bluepill and you stay in the material paradigm but you will get everything you want (ie, my desired status, how I'd like my appearance to be, etc..)

I would take the bluepill. I genuinely believe though if I was in a more comfortable place in life and not still struggling to meet my survival and basic emotional needs I would then begin to care for understanding actualization for the sake of truth and not for survival oriented motives that benefit my ego.

@patricknotstar If you strive to be an honest person and see the truth about everything then happiness will come along the way.

But be careful about expecting to find clear answers about suffering on this forum. I was just like you when I started posting here, I just wanted happiness and then spent a lot of wasted time seeking truth/enlightenment/etc with very little result.

I believe the best approach is to find a quality teacher. Going about this alone is really hard, and if you look at many of the most popular spiritual teachers of the age, at some point they were all given grace by another teacher and you can see in their stories how much it changed them.

I've heard great things about Kriya yoga, but I think it's important to get the practice directly from a reputable lineage. I think ayahausca retreats or some kind of guided psychidelic practice can be useful, but this one i'm less certain of.

I can personally attest to the quality to this guy, so if it resonates maybe look into it

@patricknotstar

practice kriya yoga.  a single kriya yoga session will give u psychidelic states, happiness and mental comfort for upto 8 hours

kriya should be learn under a guru. chakras and working on pranas work in astral diamension. u cannot use your intelligence to auto correct yourself as all these things lie in astral diamension . u will best learn kriya under a guru. but if u cannot go to a guru then download a 4 gb torrent from the below site and start practicing

Love the honesty here, most authentic post i seen in awhile. This work is called "Advanced Personal Development" because it is advanced. So watching the advanced stuff wont help you much until your ready for it. It may help to start with Leos older videos, mainly the ones before he started using the cool thumbnail images. So the ones where its just Leos face. I wouldn't move onto the ones that aren't his face until you've understood all those ones first, which will start to change your thinking. Give your mind time to integrate all those lessons and work from there. They have high potential to pull you out of your depression and transform your mind. Leos "Start Here" tab gives a really great order in which to watch the videos in as a beginner. But ideally you want to be constructing your own process, so watch them in the orders in which are relevant to your life. You need to be taking notes and meditating. It seems the structure of our minds have to have those actions being carried out to gain traction in shifting the mental patterns. My recommendations for order of certain videos to focus on for awhile would be these ones...

  1. https://www.actualized.org/articles/grasping-the-illusory-nature-of-thought
  2. https://www.actualized.org/articles/build-your-infrastructure-for-success
  3. https://www.actualized.org/articles/awareness-alone-is-curative
  4. https://www.actualized.org/articles/mindfulness-meditation
  5. https://www.actualized.org/articles/meditation-techniques-do-nothing
  6. https://www.actualized.org/articles/how-to-master-your-emotions
  7. https://www.actualized.org/articles/how-to-deal-with-strong-negative-emotions
  8. https://actualized.org/articles/the-35-subfields-of-self-help
  9. https://www.actualized.org/articles/how-to-be-a-strategic-motherfucker

So to help shift your mental patterns and allow changes in your thinking which is contributing highly to your suffering in its current state, you want to watch each video in order and take notes as you go. You can also watch each one all the way through with focus. Then go back and take notes. Your going to catch things you missed the first time through. One time watching the video wont be enough to integrate it all until your mind gains that traction it needs. First you need to be gaining awareness of your own mind and thought process, those videos should facilitate that to happen if you truly listen to them. This can begin changing the way your mind functions, through applying the teachings and doing the activities and contemplating about them during your day. A growth mindset needs to comes online, and it starts to be able to absorb information more effectively. When it does, you'll notice that your not thinking about your depression and other stuff as much because your gaining interest and understanding of your own mind.  Then learning how to use that newer thought process to begin structuring a new way of living your life will put you in a different position of how you think about life and help you make progress figuring out what you want to do with it. You might find that an interest in understanding reality more will begin to grow. Simple additions like diet change and exercise will help you physically feel better and alleviate depressive symptoms and is simply basic healthy self care that will be necessary to integrate moving forward.

I hope this advice helps put you on a good trajectory. Myself and others will be here on the forum to assist you if you need it. What you seek can be found here with Actualized.org, just gotta learn how to utilize it to then create it in your own direct experience.

@patricknotstar Your welcome! Its process and takes time. That what will give you something to do to change your mindset, Im not sure if your life consists of only going to work, watching tv, or being on your cell phone scrolling, then rest of the time your sleeping just to repeat the same cycle over again the next day. but I found that more people that live that specific cycle often feel more depressed than those who are doing personal development and making good use of their time. Make sure you have goals.

Spirituality is a goal, a passion for those who are seekers. They will continue to seek it one way or another.

The difference between you and them is that what you're doing is a reverse form of spiritual bypassing. Spiritual bypassing is done to use spirituality to escape life and its problems whereas you are using spirituality to fix problems. The issue is spirituality doesn't necessarily fix the problem. So you're better off actually solving the problem yourself using whatever tools you have in the material world. But spirituality is not entirely useless. Most people who continue to progress spiritually achieve a more wholesome state of mind like calmness, clarity, a more harmonious relationship with the body and emotions etc, so in essence it does uplift your body, mind and spirit but does not necessarily fix a particular problem in life, however it can give you a different perspective over the same problem.

You can still continue to seek spirituality although you could lose out on practical ways to deal with your problems in your devotion to spiritual pursuits.

Find a balance.

It's impossible, caring is predicated on truth. Truth is indivisible.

The problem is to aligning yourself with an ever expansive yet humble theory of truth, and that is not at all important for most people.

It is important if you for example are at all interested in achieving for example SD stage yellow values, or in the negative sense of transcending the limitations of your culture and yourself.

Our problems as humans is our thirst, our appetite, both so far as they can not be fulfilled and for almost all of us so far as they are fulfilled.

how much can you bend your mind? and how much do you have to do it to see straight?
