Thought Quieted Down for the First Time ?

40 posts in this topic

It's real! It's really real!

Turns out with attention to the breath it's like a ratio.

The more one focuses on the breath and deepens the satisfaction in each "flavor" of the feeling of it, the quieter thoughts become.

And the opposite, the more one focuses on thoughts, the more shallow and "desperate" the breath feels.

Feels like after years of pumping the well, waters finally come out ?.

@Vincent S there is already victory!

A tiny crack with light shining through it is evidence that it'll soon break completely!

@Phoenix11 yes definitely.

I find the key being meditating for longer periods of time.

Meditating for an hour isn't about being better or anything, it's just that when you meditate for longer, you increase the inevitability of surrendering to the moment.

True true increase the probability of coming back to the present moment. I too have been sitting for longer durations off late, I can relate.

How long do you think they disappeared for?

I'm curious where you draw the line between thought and not thought. Are these verbal thoughts?

This would be a start of another thread of thoughts if you begin to ponder about this during meditation, after thought could be interesting though

Was that a joke? I don't get it.

It can be ;)
But at the same time as @Fearless_Bum said: "A tiny crack with light shining through it is evidence that it'll soon break completely"
Progress has been made, but its another thought that is saying that there was no thought action.
But the biggest knot has been Unravelled. And that is whats most important, is that direct experience took over for a brief period, and the true essence was felt.

Although I can sometimes disidentify from thoughts if that makes sense.

It does. Observing and witnessing stillness. Inner essence just flowing but being still at the same time. No attributes but its own Perfection.

Been seeing the same thing. It's all about breathing and silence here & now.

There is no ego, no survival, no higher consciousness, none of that in breathing and silence.

The language of God is silence.

@roopepa true ?.

When we observe the breath deeply, it's like watching the entire moment being breathed into existence.
