Mr. Beast 20.000.000 trees

7 posts in this topic

If you don't know Mr. Beast, he is a popular YouTuber (not very high consciousness resource, but anyways) and he is planning to plant 20.000.000 trees via charity. Do these trees actually have an impact? I googled how many trees there are on the whole planet and it said around 3 trillion, so 20.000.000 does not seem very impactfull to me.

A drop in the bucket is still water.

There is nowhere to go, face what is.

That seems like a good way to look at it.

Take two seconds to look by your window at a fully mature tree and try to fathom what 20 000 000 of them look like.

It depends on where you would want to plant it. In the Amazon forest or India, it's nothing. Although, in some small country it would be a substantial amount.

Smart move would be to plant them to places that had trees that were cut down, and then humans just left the place without leaving any trees to start multiplying on the free space. That way the planted trees could spread their seeds and in 20-30 years 20 000 000 trees could become 200 000 000 trees

@Florian It's not the trees that are important, 20 million trees will of course do "nothing".

It's more so about the awareness and showing that we should be taking action in every way we can.
