"To differentiate the thinking mind and awareness, one must arrive solely in awareness.

The thinking mind as the expression of awareness should be abandoned. When awareness is recognized, then the thinking mind is self-abandoned. Mind is changing, and awareness is unchanging. In this way, the two are differentiated.
