Detachment from suffering

I just wanted to share an incredible insight I have had which has led to a breakthrough in my state of consciousness. 

I have been doing a lot of self-inquiry today inbetween sets of "do nothing" sits. 

I asked myself "am I the body"... The answer came back "no"... I asked "am I the voice in my head" and then I went through my five senses etc. 

Then I realised what "I" think I am... Which is suffering itself. Then I kept repeating to myself "there is the suffering, but I do not suffer. I am the awareness behind the suffering" 

This is an incredible breakthrough for me, as I have learnt how to detach myself from suffering. It is still there, but as it is not me, it does not have the same effect.

True change may start to happen (seemingly on its own, without mental effort or control) after this realization ?

This is amazing! The suffering is still there, but there is no-one to suffer.
