The only way to be happy is to awaken

43 posts in this topic

There is really no other way.

You can lie to yourself all you want.

All the friends in the world, including meaningful friendships will still make you feel alone.

You can fuck all the girls you ever wanted and more, and you will still feel insatisfied.

The best intimate relationship you ever had, with the best partner you ever dreamed of, will make you question its validity in, the long run, even if it is "perfect".

Being the smartest guy you know, with the deepest and rarest knowledge available in history, will render the world meaningless.

You can gather all the wealth you want, acquire everything you want, you will feel hollow.

It really doesn't matter what is the thing you think you need, lack, or have too much of it.

Whatever you do or aren't doing isn't gonna change all of this.

The only thing it's gonna change is reducing the amount of suffering, but it will never go to zero,

And this is only if you do some serious spiritual practice.

I know it sounds dumb and basic, but never underestimate your mind to trick itself.

It will do it every chance it gets.

From the very subtle things to the gross and nasty "meaningful" things,

And before you know it, you'll be sucked into it and weeks/months will pass.

I recommand to create a smartphone alert on your digital calendar, and everyday of the week, at the same hour, you reflect on what is suffering.

What in your life creates suffering for you, and what is your beliefs/assumptions that make the suffering happen.

There is conflict/suffering only when there is resistance to the fact, which looks for its opposite in the abstraction. This resistance perpetuates the continuity of “i”.

To escape the fact (dis-satisfaction) and pursue the abstraction (satisfaction), is the very psychological movement that nourishes conflict/suffering/unhappiness.

What happens when there is just a staying with the fact?

Is that fact then any longer the fact?

There are many happy people on this planet who aren't "awakened."

Conditionaly.

Only a matter of time until shit hit the fan.

Even the pursuit of “to awaken” is the abstraction away from the fact. This is also fortifying “the i”.

Any movement of “i will become” is a perpetuation of “the i” (i.e. conflict/suffering).

That's life. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. There's nothing wrong with grieving, sadness, and the entire range of human emotion.

Detachment is a double edged sword. There's a beauty to being engaged with life.

Nothing wrong of course, "sad" things will always happen.

I'm just saying that we can't fully eradicate the suffering we put on top of it until we clearly see the truth and embody it.

@Faceless  how to "unescape" the fact then?

if i "tell myself" that what-is, is okay and " I " accept it.

then that is yet again a movement of acceptance which is perpetuating the self?

how to accept the fact as is without "accepting" it

how to "deeply" know/accept it without causing "perpetuation of the false-self"

Asking how to escape is moving from what is to what should be...you see that?

@Faceless yes. i do see that...

hmm, I guess i am asking for a way...

but the way is: no-way

any doing negates the understanding ;

it just needs to be deeply seen - without an action, thought, or a process bringing about that deep seeing.

would that be correct?

You are eloquent. Part of me feels like you can summarize all your posts with:

NOW!

Or to see that “the asking how to”, “the fact”, and “the i” are really one and the same movement of psychological time(psychological becoming by “the i”).

Can this be seen?

Do you see how asking for a way reinforces the i?

No, it can't be seen because there is no seer and nothing to see.... so there's that.

Yes and this is why it is so easy and hard at the same time.

Perhaps it's better not to ask for a way, but for rather, for you to describe-explain what is meant by "seeing of the fact" or "staying with the fact."

Yes and this is why it is so easy and hard at the same time.

so then it seems even talking about it after " I " (the reality - oneness beaming thru the SoonHei body-mind) has recognized the illusion would instantly give birth to the ego again?

then the age old quote needs a tiny adjustment

before enlightenment = chop wood carry water

after enlightenment = STFU and DONT MOVE! (or you'll lose 'IT' )

 lol ?

but yes,  I see what all y'all be pointing to...

it's so crazy

it's like a movie being projected onto a wall

and in the movie, there is a guy in the same room which has the wall where the movie is being projected. and that guy has a sledgehammer and is swinging in the the air repeatedly

and then when that movie is being played on the wall, its like the guy swinging the sledgehammer is trying to break the wall on which the movie is being projected

Yes.

Now stop thinking about it, it is not helping at your point anymore.

To see that I=the fact.

“I” = conflict

“I” = anger

”I” = suffering

so any movement from that position of “i” that pursues the facts opposite is sustaining that illusion of i.
