Indeed.

@enchanted I think you know what you are doing here. And why it could easily be perceived as subtly dismissive.

Just because you wouldn't lie, doesn't mean another woman wouldn't. By that logic, I could argue that because I wouldn't rape someone, Russell Brand probably wouldn't either. Obviously, that tells us nothing about what he actually did.

But yes, of course, it's hard to report rape for trauma and shame reasons and the victims have an especially difficult predicament to navigate.

The most interesting thing about rape as a crime is that it's unjustifiable even to the people committing it so the vast majority of rapists refuse to believe they're rapists.

Criminological and psychological studies estimate that approximately 50% to 60% of convicted sex offenders (including rapists) minimize, justify, or deny core elements of their offense, with 15% to 25% remaining in full categorical denial (claiming they did not commit the act or that it never occurred).

Research indicates that only 5% to 15% of convicted rapists fully acknowledge both their actions and explicit intent without using cognitive rationalizations or self-justifications.

Brings me back to Leo's point that if most people that commit evil acts really had the full consciousness of what they're doing a lot of them would commit suicide in shame and guilt.

It brings a lot of of credibility to the point of feminists saying to teach men not to rape. Enthusiastic consent is an important concept to understand if you're gonna have casual sex with strangers. Some of the advice that I see from men online and even on this forum seems to land them in a murky grey area and you should definitely air on the side of caution when it comes to these things.

It is far easier to fool someone, than to convince them they have been fooled.

For sure, there's a lot of truth to this, but there is a percentage of them that genuinely had no idea they were raping the woman.

The problem is women will have the freeze response. And they won't say no, and they will just sit there and not fight back. And the freeze response is extremely common, and if this happens, you could accidentally rape her.

I think the freeze response must be some kind of survival mechanism that prevents them from dying if they're raped. As it's the best thing that you can do as a woman to avoid being killed in prehistoric times

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

What I find perplexing, is that there doesn't seem to be conclusive evidence.

On what grounds did legal council advise the women that they could potentially win in court.

Its not hard for us peak developed humans... out of all the millions of random situations that show up in the world, some times theres a combination thats absurd. i saw this one case the girl was sleeping at a party in a bed and the guy next to her made a move on her, she frooze and 1) did not say anything 2) did not fight at all 3) "didn't know what to do".

Woman are raised to avoid conflict and keep social harmony and this make the situation worse when they have to speak up for them selves.

Everyone assumes rape is violent and the woman said "no/stop" and that's not how most of them happen.

I'm not making excuses for any of these men. I'm just saying it's complicated unless you're educated.

Rape cases are always on the grounds of testimonies. So they're very hard to win.

Ideally, we have an AI on your phone that's listening at all times. And if they hear you say the word "no" stop, they will have situational awareness and will record everything.

And I see the jury consists of 8 men and 4 women.

Its because they have more kids. Its natural selection. There's positive evolutionary pressure for women to not resist rape if you think about it beyound just immediate survival. Women in general are bad at resisting rape. That's an evolutionary feature I think.

Dark eh?
