Has anyone here actually read The Scriptures?

15 posts in this topic

I haven't read any of them totally but I'm curious has anyone here actually read The Old Testament, The New Testament, and The Quran?

I want to start to read them all as well.

Just to see what is there.

I've read some suras of Quran because I live in a Muslim culture.

But I haven't read it fully yet.

I'm not very much familiar with The Old and The New Testament.

But I have it on my phone and want to start to read it.

I read bits of the Bible trying to find verses that are like Zen koans, but was dissapointed to see that it's mostly "praise the lord!" type stuff.

Yeah I've read bits of it as well but it was just random stuff.

I'm curious to see what it would be like to read all of it totally.

The Bible actually has some serious redpill stuff in it.    Human nature doesn't change.

"3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

Timothy 4: 3-4 (NIV)

10 They say to the seers,
“See no more visions!”
and to the prophets,
“Give us no more visions of what is right!
Tell us pleasant things,
prophesy illusions.

Isaiah 30:10 (NIV)

If one knows how to read between the lines and discern subtext then I would say the bible has as much truth relating to the nature of this reality as any book in history.

One of the best concepts I have found in the Good Book is that of Metanoia which is mistranslated in every version as mere "repentance". It is actually a much more profound concept - fire of nous.

What does that mean in simple terms?

Oh nice.

So the word translated as repentance actually means knowledge of the divine.

That's cool.

Organized religion, particularly after Rome's meddling, made sure to put a lot of metaphysical horseshit and social domestication (to go along with a bunch of pagan holidays) to make you unworthy of Gods love and mercy so you'll spend your whole life in service begging for forgiveness for being born.

Its all a big joke.  Jesus wasn't trying to start a religion.  He was trying to teach people how to rely on inner communion instead of the establishment but of course his teachings were converted into the establishment.  Same goes for buddhism.

If you can get your hands on an old bible, get yourself a good Greek concordance and you'll me amazed at how much liberty was taken with meanings so as to distort the message.  Im sure someone has done the work and put it out there but its good to have what you need so you can check for yourself.
