These open source projects are great.

I used claude to fork the pro tools project into Ableton live suite.

The Reverse engineer claude skill is remarkable. You can take features on softwares you like and make your own software.

 

If you work with yt, you can merge the video editor with photoshop. REA davicnii, borrow some features. Change the UI for maximum productivity.

What would be way better as an input to cloning software is official courses on how to use the software, because the instructors explain why the software is the way it is and also what makes it special and which features it has that for example the free/open-source version doesn't have.

Of course you would not be allowed to do this legally as you would infringe the copyright of the courses, by using them as input to train/bias an AI model to do what you want. But still that would at least make a proper working software.
