Democrats will now control a majority of both governorships and state legislative chambers following the 2026 midterms. And that is historically significant, especially considering Republicans' dominance of state governments since the 2010 Tea Party wave!

Democratic Governorships: 28–30 of 50 

That means that there will be Democratic governors in 56–60% of all states in the country

Democratic Controlled State Legislative Chambers: 50–51 of 99

51 of 99 will be Democratic-controlled

Just over half of chambers

This will be the first time Democrats have controlled a majority of state legislative chambers since before the 2010 elections!

I often think of the masses as sheep being taken advantage of by wolves. The wolves are usually a few steps ahead of the sheep. But now, the sheep have caught up and the wolves have to go into hiding and plot their next moves. It's a cycle.

Imagine if every human on the planet were taught how marketing works to manipulate people. The sheep would have caught up to the marketers and the marketers would have to go back to the drawing board. It's an evolving cat and mouse game.
