These are complicated issues with no easy answers. Kraft originally showed a lot of maturity by offering an open sit-down with Macklemore, and when Macklemore challenged him on Instagram by donating his $1M tour salary, Kraft actually put up $2 million for humanitarian aid.

Yet people are still trying to burn down Ed Sheeran just for getting caught in the crossfire of venue owners and tour politics. It shows that for a lot of activists, it’s not about resolution, diplomacy, or actual aid dollars—it's about demanding total ideological submission and running public shaming campaigns on anyone who doesn't echo the exact script.

Yeah, that’s what bothers me about it. The moment helping people becomes secondary to proving your loyalty to a cause, things have gone completely sideways.

It's the basis of the human condition! Feels before rationality. It expresses itself differently in conservatives and in liberals but often times what leftists feel is right actually hurts their cause.

I think some of you lack nuance and empathy. Ed is a singer… why are people projecting all this crap on him. 
 

I think it’s because normal people don’t know what mega fame is and how hard pr is. Ed’s a normal guy not a politician or activist.

Free Palestine has graduated from being a toxic movement to literally being a cult. That’s what it is. That is what we are seeing.

You have to say “Free Palestine” or the mob views you as an enemy. You have to declare your allegiance to the movement by saying those words out loud. Even if you never actually do anything to free Palestine, it doesn’t matter. As long as you toe the line.

What did Ed Sheeran actually do? He didn’t say anything bad about the Free Palestine movement. He didn’t say anything good about Israel either. He basically said, “I don’t want to do politics at my concerts.” And what do you get? A whirlwind of rage from these people who are frustrated and angry that one of the biggest stars on the planet isn’t toeing the line.

Kraft hadn't specified which organizations would receive the fund. The Intercept, digging into tax filings, noted Kraft's charitable foundation has a history of donating to pro-Israel groups like Friends of the IDF
