@Emerald Careful, Emerald. If guys stop treating female validation like fentanyl, half the dating advice industry will go bankrupt overnight. That pops the AI bubble, triggers the prophesied Armageddon, and collapses the entire universe. You're playing with fire here.

Did your sex drive go down massively?

I log every single time I sexually satisfy myself via the Apple Health app.

From September 2023-24, I had sex with myself 178 times.

*From September 2024-25, I had sex with myself 50 times.

From September 2025-26, I had sex with myself 120 times.

*It used to be massively down. I had to add a small dose of testosterone gel later on due to major health complications. Now I have the hormonal profile of a Unicorn.

Wow fascinating. I rank porn videos /100 to find the best adult art on the internet and identify my interests over time but I never thought about logging masturbation. What is the use case for it?

It's not that women are drugs, it's the sexual energy inside you who is running the show and hypnotizing you.

If you didn't have it, you probably wouldn't care at all about women. It would be a completely neutral experience just like your relationship to a table is.

Labeling like that helps in real time, kudos

I imagine being high estrogen makes you feel things way deeper, avoid conflict more, be more anxious and not be as horny as the average male.

I don’t want to fall into reductionism, even though, like I mentioned, hormones played a big role for me. It’s more than that. Women are not just hormones, not just body parts, not just sexual organs, not just social conditioning, not just reproductive capacity, not just sexual attraction, not just aesthetic presentation, not just legal classification, not just social roles, not just physical appearance, not just youth or beauty, not diminished by aging, and not even just identity . But these words probably just cute ideas and won’t be taken seriously.

tl;dr

Women are a beautiful mystery

Well you do have a point but not the full point. Sour grapes just means disliking what you cannot get or I mean even if you can get it, you feel like perhaps it's too hard and rationalize it's not worth getting at all. It's a fair point to say that beauty is not everything but let's not demonize attractive people or talk ourselves out of attracting hot women.

It's also about self-awareness and knowing what you want. If I walk down the street in downtown Montreal I can see dozens of really attractive women. I want to sleep with some of them. Perhaps it's not as important for others but usually men talk themselves out of beautiful women because their subconscious makes a calculation that they can't get them, or it's too hard might as well not try. Pretending that beauty is not real so you can sleep easier at night seems a bit silly and that's why I spend time working on my self-development, social circle and status so that I have an abundance of options when it comes to my dating life.

I encourage every man to do the same.

This is gold. I needed to hear this thanks

I don't enjoy mysteries personally; I like solving them. You can always add more complexity to your identity if that helps you in some way but we need definitions to make sense of reality.

What is a woman? Greatness. Easy-peasy lemon squeezy.

It seems there's an underlying frame that if something is desirable, there must be some sort of conquest mission to attain it.

It's a basic form of reasoning where people can look at something desirable and ask themselves how much they truly want it, then ask how much work goes into getting it, and then decide the desirable thing is better off not pursued, and to walk away without "sour grapes".

So if I see a desirable woman who I would most certainly consider having sex with, I think of all that entails and almost always decide that it would be nice to have but I don't want it enough. I don't walk away from that with "sour grapes" or any negative emotion at all.

@enchanted was talking about the benefit, not the cost. He was saying the stories that men tell themselves about the benefits are often bullshit, which is correct and a basic understanding of how the mind works. And those stories of status, conquest, accomplishment, etc, are scripts running on base instincts that are easy to understand upon observation.

Can you see how having a "conquest" frame increases the benefit, thus justifying the cost of the mission? Obviously, the reward is higher for the conquest-focused person because they're getting a bonus on top of the thing (increased self-worth, status, high score, etc). The conquest-oriented person is running a ledger, and that ledger tallies their self-worth - that's why they do it - for the proof on the scoreboard. If one doesn't need self-worth from the scoreboard, the cost-benefit comes out differently.

It would be like if you were a runner and completing a marathon gave you a great sense of accomplishment, and you told all non-runners that the only reason they aren't actualizing themselves is because they're rationalizing their laziness, but they can have the grand prize of accomplishment and conquest if they simply get off their lazy, rationalizing asses and run the marathon. The runner assumes that because the marathon fills a hole in him, that everyone has that hole.

If you deem the cost worth it, then by all means, do you. But if others don't see it as worth it, don't project inferiority or a hurt/broken psychology onto them, at least not as universally as you seem to.

Everyone wants the candy bar bro. Some are more bothered by not being able to have it than others.

Conquest is one way to make the pursuit mean something. It's not the only way. Conquest is obsessed with the scoreboard. Appetite gets fed and goes quiet.

When I see a badass mansion or super yacht and think of how nice it would be to have such an easy and plush lifestyle, I don't have "sour grapes". I see something that would be nice to have, dream about having it, consider what it would take to get it, and then get back to life.

A question to reflect on if you want: "Abundance" and "options". For what? What is the motive for abundance and options?

"When a general takes a province, the province's qualities don't matter to him as qualities. Its rivers, its people, what it's like to live there — irrelevant. What matters is that it's his now, and what taking it says about him and his position relative to rivals. The territory is valued entirely for its function in the score."

I don't look at it like conquest, maybe a little bit in terms of a fun playful idea but more so just being able to get what I desire. If you are arguing that you YOURSELF don't experience sour grapes then totally fair; I don't know you personally.

I think if we are being honest it would be an accurate general statement that most men experience sour grapes in terms of the women who do not want to date them, and oftentimes MASSIVE sour grapes that turn into resentment or overt misogyny. A recent post was shared on this forum in the dating section along these lines.

Being able to sleep with women easily makes you appreciate them a lot more and when you start to learn mechanisms of leverage like building your own social circle and social media brand then levelling up your sex appeal as a man becomes a very fun and energizing process as opposed to a tedious grind.

Having options makes it much easier to find a quality long term partner and also sleeping with cool hot women is fun.

Yes, I agree with that. But I thought we were talking about something else. You said something like men who don't pursue are rationalizing out of some fear or less than ideal conditioning.

Like if a man is going about his life, seeing attractive women on the street and just walks by them, he's operating on some bad psychology if he doesn't approach them.

And I was saying, no, it's normal to walk past 1000 things you would take if you could get them for free, but since they aren't free, you just keep walking, no sour grapes. It's abnormal to waltz about on that street as if every attractive woman is something to desire for more than a few seconds, as well as it is to be looking for approach missions you're either accepting or chickening out of.

To turn talking to attractive women into a challenge seems neurotic. Guys seem to get more of a rush from having successful interactions with hot girls than they do actually having sex with them, lol. If that's true, and I think it is (been there), that gives the entire game away: external validation.

But of course, this neuroticism isn't recognized as such. It's recognized as a man living up to his fullest potential because I'm a man, I like sex, I like beautiful women, and I want more of both. Which is the perfect cover story for organizing his life around acquiring them. Appetite promoted to virtue

That said, I get it. Men need solutions to get sex, and your approach does work. It's just not my cup of tea. Pros and cons.

Personally, I look at it more like conquering society itself. I don't see women as objects of conquest, more as cool adventure partners that want to join your journey en masse once you start offering more value and being able to solve the problems that weigh down the average man.

The more abundance and value you generate in your life the more people want to be a part of it. Be it guys below your level that want to become your clients, and cool guys on top of their shit that become peers. Attractive cool women are a part of that as well.

Politics is a good parallel to this point: the average person complains about politicians being corrupt yet never gets engaged in their local political system nor makes the effort to network with politicians to actually start to be able to influence the system instead of being a passive victim inside of it.

I think you can use the sting of rejection in a dating context to initially fuel a self-improvement journey and then substitute it with a more holistic source of motivation down the line.

I think the average guy doesn't even give himself the permission to desire hot women so even if it doesn't manifest as overt sour grapes,  there is still a sort of cynicism or bitterness that oozes out of them I find.

But wanting something and passing on it is the most normal thing in the world. People do it all day with houses, cars, food. And you're treating attractive women as the category for which this is not allowed. You're saying that if you do this with attractive women, there's something inherently fucked up about you, lol.
