Apothecary diaries is on Netflix, it's quite good. It's about a girl who gets kidnapped into the Chinese Imperial palace and starts out as a regular servant and gets elevated to the inner palace due to her proficiency in herbology, medicine and potion making. All kinds of court intrigues and the grandiosity of Imperial China!

The main character is a funny chick who ends up being a detective ala Sherlock Holmes on the palace grounds, quite unique character design.

Yesterday, Sunday I binged watched 7 episodes of the Netflix series “ EAST OF EDEN “

I thought it was good viewing, very sad though containing a lot of human suffering of course.

I'm conflicted, I absolutely love Florence Pugh but I'm not so sure about all the human suffering.😂 I did start to read the novel many moons ago I think, couldn't finish it though.

@RickyFitts good grief is LOVE with nowhere to go

Love is nowhere and everywhere all at once. That’s a Love difficult to swallow in just one gulp.

I’ve seen bits and bobs of that. It’s really fascinating and fun. Must catch up on some more. I’d forgotten about it actually.
Good stuff though.

Interesting sentiment. Seems a bit random though.

Anyway, I did watch the first episode before - there was a disappointing lack of Florence Pugh, and when she was on screen she looked bloody frightful (pun intended), but it was great drama all the same, with some terrific performances. And the teaser for the rest of the season that they showed at the end reassures me that the delightful Ms Pugh is going to feature prominently, so I reckon I'll stick with it just for that.

@RickyFitts The reviews for the series were very good, people saying they too binged watched the whole series in one swoop because they couldn’t stop watching until the end.

The Recruit. It’s okay. Recently watched the movie The Gentlemen with Collin Ferrel and Matthew Mconahey and that dude from Sons of Anarchy. It’s worth a watch.

What if this is just fascination + identity + seriousness being inflated into universal importance?

Does look a good show from what I've seen.
