Is this right about solipsism? How can god reincarnate? And some other questions

12 posts in this topic

It has been some time since I last did psychedelics, but lately I have watched some YouTube videos and read some books about solipsism. So I have been pondering a bit about what it all means.

1. When it comes to solipsism, do I understand this correctly that In this moment, while I am writing this text and I am conscious and aware of my sensory experience and existence itself, my experience is the only thing that exists? Is my experience the only thing that actually exists in this particular moment?

And since God is infinite, is it that the experience that "I" am having right now contains everything that could ever be, even though it seems finite from my perspective? Because if the experience wasnt infinite and didnt contain everything, god would be limited. And because of this, there could not be any other experiences happening at this exact moment when I am having this conscious experience and perspective, because that would imply that there is something beyond God, who is limitless?

And the opposite: if we are all the same god, then when you are reading this text inside your subjective awareness, that mean that your experience is now the only experience playing out, while "mine" perspecitve is no longer happening, and I only exist as part of your experience and imagination?

2. If God is unlimited, is it possible for God to reincarnate from nothingness into a separate form in other ways than through a "physical reality" like ours? For example, could God reincarnate as a spiritual being in a "universe" without any physical laws, simply existing in some kind of ether? Could reincarnation happen in places where there arent any physical dimensions, but where there are still phenomena? Could God reincarnate in ways that we are not even capable of imagining from because of our limited form within our reality?

3. What could happen when we begin integrating electronics into our brains and potentially become able to connect ourselves directly to one another? Would it be possible to merge separate conscious experiences into one experience, and in some sense experience God from multiple peoples perspectives at the same time?

Could we also create new kinds of new electronic sensors in our bodies, giving us access to forms of sensory input beyond the senses we currently have? Could it be possible to create sensory and in any way make it possible to interact with other and "new" phenomena like maybe dark matter. That we could change the way we interact with the reality we are in right now?

You’re making this way more complicated than it needs to be.

You’re imagining God as some infinite cosmic storage unit where every possible experience is sitting there simultaneously. Cute idea, but that’s still the finite mind trying to put Infinity into a box.

Infinity isn’t a really, really big thing. It’s the absence of limitation. There isn’t some giant God somewhere containing your experience, my experience, and everyone’s experience like files on a hard drive.

And here’s where it gets really inconvenient: you’re assuming there’s a separate “you” having an experience in the first place.

Look closely.

Where exactly is this “you” that owns the experience? You have thoughts, sensations, images, emotions, perceptions. But where is the separate entity experiencing them?

That’s the rabbit hole.

And no, I wouldn’t say that when I’m reading your message, your consciousness suddenly stops existing and becomes a character inside my imagination. That’s just solipsism turned into another conceptual fantasy. You’re still imagining two separate people and then trying to figure out which one gets to be “real.”

From the absolute perspective, there aren’t multiple independent consciousnesses. There is Consciousness. But don’t turn that into another belief system either. If you haven’t directly realized it, you’re just playing metaphysics with words.

Same thing with reincarnation.

You’re imagining God as a cosmic person who dies, gets bored, and respawns somewhere else. That’s not what Infinity means. God doesn’t travel from one form to another. There aren’t actually separate forms outside of Consciousness in the first place.

Could reality manifest in ways your human mind can’t even imagine? Obviously. If Reality is Infinite, your five senses and monkey brain aren’t exactly going to be the final authority on what’s possible.

But “maybe there are spiritual dimensions” is still just a thought. Don’t confuse imagination with realization.

And the technology stuff is fascinating, but don’t make the classic mistake of thinking more technology automatically means more Truth.

Maybe we’ll connect brains. Maybe we’ll merge sensory streams. Maybe we’ll create entirely new senses and interact with aspects of reality humans currently can’t perceive.

Great.

You could connect a billion brains together and you’d still be modifying the contents of consciousness. You wouldn’t manufacture Consciousness itself.

And if one day we build a sensor that detects dark matter directly, congratulations. You’ve expanded the human interface with reality. You haven’t necessarily discovered God.

That’s the part I’d keep coming back to.

You’re trying to understand Infinity by building a better mental model of Infinity.

That’s like trying to swallow the ocean with a teaspoon.

So instead of asking what God is going to reincarnate into, or how many dimensions God can fit inside, investigate the one thing that’s actually undeniable right now:

You’re conscious.

Before you explain it, before you call it “my consciousness,” before you invent a theory about God

look at what is actually here.

There's your ego (little you) and then there's universal or christ consciousness (big you).  Anything in your sensory awareness is the only thing thats going on in the entire universe.  You're the only mind in the universe - everything is your imagination.

And that's true for everyone.

Good questions

If we want to stay very strict epistemically speaking, the thing is that you are forever locked in your experience and sensory field, this is the truth and your constant everpresent reality. You cannot experience other because even if you did, that would then become your experience.

So you will never verify that there is another having an experience because you are locked into your experience. From this, the leap comes, should then  I believe in something which I can't verify? Or should I go with the obvious that seemingly there are other having an experience?

This moment contains everything that could be in potential, but not in actuality.

It's like saying, does the screen you are seeing right now contain all movies and books, yes in potential, but in actuality is being a particular frame.

There's One Consciousness and everything is mediated through it, whatever may or may not happen will be through it.

Experiences are Infinite, there's no end and no beginning to what can be experienced.

Like I understand everything you are saying and I my post wasnt very nuanced. Sorry for not prefacing, but Im not some kind of noob. I have a lot of experience with meditation and many many many deep breakthrough doses on different psychedelics. When I am talking about "I", I am not referring to my ego.

When I am talking about solipsism, Im not pointing to metaphysical or some philosophical solipsism. I am talking about the "absolute" solipsism Leo is talking about. He deleted the video, but I rewatched it from a reuploader. Have also read books etc. And the difference when I see people talk about solipsism on this forum compared to how Leo talks about it, it seems that there is a difference. And that is the differentiation I am trying to understand.

I have read many posts about people talking about "we are all god experiencing ourselves through many eyes at the same time" so there is no distinction between me or you as god. We just play different characters. When I die, I can reincarnate as you and vice versa. BUT, in this view there are many experiences going on simountaneously.

When i watched Leo's video, it seems to me at least, that he is VERY deliberate about not talking about other people being conscious at the same time. Very deliberate. He menstion in the end "from my perspective" very carefully. And it seems to me he does that not to confuse people. And my takeaway is that there is no other. There is no other consicous beings inside my reality. There is only "I" (not talking about ego), and there couldnt be anybody other. And when this body dies, I could reincarnate into another human being, but if I met the person I am today through another avatar, that would mean that I would not be consoius at that time from the perspective of the avatar I am in right now.

Kinda hard to explain. But just that there aren't any other beings being consious if you are consious yourself.

I would just refer to the other answer I gave. The thing I am pondering about is the god has many eyes at the same time, but from Leo's video, it dosent seem that he agrees with that.

This question kinda circles back to the solipsism question. If you look at the other answer I gave that other people cant be conscious if you ar conscious yourself, then, if that is tru, what would happen if we got connected together, if that makes sense.

It’s all “you” in the ultimate analysis, but that does not necessarily entail solipsism.

Existence is identical with itself .reality at its deepest level  is one unified being. all of reality is “my being.” Yet this does not mean that the individual person orthe particular body-mind I identify as “me” is the entirety of reality.

Reality appears to give rise to this particular body-mind, here and now, as one limited perspective within itself. This is the limited sense of “me.” At the level of appearance, there can be multiple bodies, minds, perspectives, and experiences existing simultaneously. There can be many distinct points of view without contradicting the absolute oneness of existence.

The key distinction is between substance and appearance. At the level of substance, reality is fundamentally one. At the level of appearance, it manifests as diversity, multiplicity, and seemingly separate individuals. Reality appears to be composed of many things and to contain “others,” but this multiplicity belongs to the level of appearance rather than to the underlying nature of existence itself.

This is why oneness does not equal solipsism. Solipsism claims that reality is ultimately confined to a single individual mind or person. But the individual person is itself limited, whereas reality is not. Reality is infinite, and the particular body-mind that I call “me” is only one limited manifestation or perspective within that infinite reality.

“God is the Alpha Omega .. the beginning-less  beginning and the endless end .
He is the first without start . He is the last without end . He is the manifest actuality ..nothing covers him . He is the most hidden essence  ..nothing can grasp him .. nothing below him or more subtle than him .The ego is the belief I’m separate from god . Because being god is too good to be true .No matter how dark it gets or difficult it gets ..no matter how long it is going to take .. my destiny is the infinite happiness and infinite joy and love as the best thing ever ..God .  “

-that’s a me .

@Davino

If other people can have a conscious experience while I have a conscious experience. Just to preface, I am NOT speaking about my egoic self as "I" and you as "other" and that we are seperate. I am speaking about "god" experiencing "my" existence and perspective right now only. And the same with you if you are reading this.

Either

1. When I write this to you from the subjective perspective I am experiencing right now, no other people in this world are conscious or aware but me, and you are just part of my imagination. And that the only way you could have a conscious perspective and experience, was if I my perspective didnt exist right. And the same with you as well. If you are reading this, that means that I am not a conscious or aware being.

or

2. We are everybody god, and the differentiation between us that we experience as egos, is just a cognitive process. But that it is possible for god to have experiences simountaneously at the same time. Everybody is awake and aware, but we are just fragmented bits of god.

In other words, if god could only have experiences in a sequential matter og if god could have parallell experiences at the same time. And also. I know time dosent exist as well, but its just easier for me to explain it in linear terms.

Just made transcript from the youtube film (hope this is fine. and please just remove the video if its a problem):

27:01–28:01
“You are the only conscious thing in existence. There cannot be any other conscious being but you. That's what you are. There are not multiple conscious beings out there. There are not Souls. There are not parallel lives that are being lived. There's not a past life and an afterlife. There's only your mind right now - your mind right now. What you're seeing, hearing, feeling, tasting, smelling, thinking, imagining - that's all that exists. That's what existence is. Nothing more, nothing less.”

38:49–40:35
“Rather than creating a bunch of different creatures who have Consciousness, and creating atoms which come together and make molecules, and those molecules form neurons, those neurons form synapses, and those somehow generate some sort of cloud of Consciousness, and then within that cloud of Consciousness there's some sort of perceptions and stuff, and having multiple millions and billions and trillions of these different clouds of consciousnesses all interconnecting with each other and working together - this is sort of the scientific model of how reality is constructed.

Rather than having all of that, all you need to do is just have one consciousness which fools itself with images of something outside of itself - other Minds, other consciousnesses - and that's it.

[...] You don't need different minds and different organisms and all of this. You don't need any of that. All you need is one mind that dreams up everything else. It's like a stage set for a camera - for one camera. There's only one camera.”

1:30:12–1:30:50

“But Leo, don't you have your own experience like I have my own experience, and then you have your own experience, right?

No. There's only your experience. I am your experience.

But Leo, why do you speak as though you have your own experience if you actually don't? Why are you tricking me?

Again, I'm not tricking you. You're tricking you.”

1:35:51–1:36:59

“This is all your mind. This is all your dream. All the bodies in it are projections of your own mind.

But Leo, if I'm imagining you and you're imagining me, how can that be? That doesn't compute. It's illogical.

It doesn't compute because there's only you imagining me.

Stop imagining that I have any experience or Consciousness or mind outside of you. Keep doing that - not just with me, but with everybody else. Keep doing that and doing that and doing that until you are left completely alone in a solipsistic bubble of your own Consciousness, until there's nothing left but your own bubble. And when that happens, that's Awakening.”

2:46:26–2:48:37

“But Leo, shouldn't an all powerful God have the power to create multiple selves and experiences? You make God seem like he's this weak thing because he can't create a real other human being, and this contradicts God's omnipotence.

Like I said, God is you, a singular conscious entity. This entity at its highest level is one. It cannot be other than one.

It can, however, multiply itself by subdividing itself. So through subdivision of itself it can fragment itself and create multiple selves, in a sense. But these multiple selves, you have to understand, from the highest perspective are always quasi or pseudo selves. They are relative partitions which will collapse, and they are being imagined and held within your mind as God.

So God can dream all sorts of selves, including your human self that you're cosplaying as right now. God can do all that. But God can also stop doing that and realize that it's one and that it's you.

[...] The contradiction would be if God could actually separate itself from itself permanently, because what you're asking for is like you're asking for you to be God here and then somebody else to be God over there, and both have to be all powerful and all knowing and all-seeing, but at the same time also separate from each other. That is what is contradictory and actually impossible.”

So my takeaway from this is: there could only be one experience "at a time" because god is unlimited, and if there were other conscious experiences out there but my own right now, that would imply that god is limited.

Yeah, for me I think its probably one of his best ones. After I watched it last week when I went to bed, it almost felt like i got some sense of tripping. And also feeling absolutely free.
