DSA winning across the US

In case you didn't know, Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)-backed candidates are winning/advancing in primaries across the US and it seems that Mamdani's win in NY was not an anomaly. We are seeing democratic socialists win in Midwestern and Southern states - despite millions spent by AIPAC on smear campaigns. Corporatist/establishment Dems are losing to grassroots, anti-Israel, pro-working-class campaigns.

Personally, I think (and hope) this trend will continue as people abandon politics as usual and grow tired of do-nothing centrist Democrats.

Their biggest weakness is they’re most popular among young voters and least popular among older voters, but most voters are older.

Good. For sure I think several of DSA's positions are stupid, but overall I like them a lot better than the status quo.

Same. Some of their ideas are stupid (prison/police abolition for example), but these have zero chance of happening anyway. Plus the actual officials that are being elected only subscribe to a subset of DSA ideas, namely common sense stuff that materially improves peoples' lives - universal healthcare, expanding union rights, rent control/stabilization, climate policy, etc.

Which "democratic" socialist would be against prisons/police existing? That has to be a complete lie, there is no way any one of them would want to implement that. If any one of them mentioned that as a plausible future policy, then that was a 100% intentional lie. How else would they enforce their ideology lol

even if they have zero chance of happening, the fact that those positions are stated hurts their candidates (even tho the candidates don't care for them), unfortunately.

Yes one of their aims is to abolish the US Senate which is basically legally impossible since it needs a majority from both sides senators but overall they are a wave of positive change for the system. The US being anti-socialism is pretty cringe and only hurts most americans.

DNC sabotage incoming. I swear the Dem party exists largely to keep true opposition from forming. I do believe a new left leaning political grass roots party could come about in the USA.

That may well be coming. Though I must admit, I am surprised at how many establishment Dems have unified behind Al-Sayed following his win.

they're getting results in terms of winning internal primaries. DSA will lose even more ground to Republicans in general elections.
