Is there a program/ camp that would force me to be enlightened

23 posts in this topic

I've been following Leo on and off since I was 15/16. I'm 23 now.

Even though cognitively I know that God is the most important thing and that, once attaining enlightenment, spreading God is the most important mission, I keep getting distracted by life events or simply being lazy.

Knowing myself and not having the faith that I will keep a meditation habit for longer than 3 days, I was wondering if the community here knew a camp or retreat where I could speedrun enlightenment.

I remember seeing The marathon monks of Mount Hiei on Leo's book list- maybe something similar to that with less Buddhist nonsense.

I'm well aware that I've wasted many years and that I sound silly- I've want to say I've watched the majority of the YouTube videos online, especially after I discovered Leo, read around 5-6 of the books, and completed the Life Purpose Course. I've treated actualized.org 's material as "cool ideas" and haven't taken any meaningful action.

I can't trust myself to be consistent with meditation, so is there a way to be watched so I can fully commit myself to reaching enlightenment?

Start to watch these thoughts. And try to find yourself in the body.

Commit crime that puts you into highest security prison cell with death penalty, I think it would be the closest thing to what you’re looking for, because it will be like solo retreat that you can’t escape, then if you still don’t succeed at ego death, they’ll do it for you when you get executed

@Sugarcoat I've actually thought of this because then at least I could focus on enlightenment. How long would it take if I spent every second meditating

@James123 if you could answer my question on whether there is a camp

The moment. Life is the real camp. Try to watch the thoughts with the people you hate the most.

Because the one who looks for enlightenment, is the prison itself

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂I can’t tell for sure if you’re serious or not, I joked but there’s truth to it at the same time

But I have also thought of it forreal, not for purpose of enlightenment but just as a retreat format in general. And I mean a decent prison, for example how I imagine them here in Sweden. Not that I would do it, just happened to have that thought. Because life is just overwhelming with obligations sometimes to the point that for a moment I thought a decent prison sounded like freedom in comparison😂😂😂Crazy what modern life can make us think.

Idk really what to answer to your question, but I don’t really believe you want enlightment because if you did you would’ve started deconstructing your self by this point or am I wrong?

@James123 if anyone has real advice im open to it

İ lived in darkness and silence for 6 months, and surrendering was way more difficult around people.

@James123 @Sugarcoat

Thanks, guys. Yeah, exactly. I'm just way too distracted, and electronics are just way too tempting to focus on sitting in a room and not unconsciously go on my phone.

And if I wanted to be enlightened, of course I would have already made progress, but it's something I know I have to do, but don't really have the personal experience to understand why it's so important yet.

So, was curious to see how everyone here is making progress as well, but for myself I think I need to hyperfocus on meditation or it enlightenment will just not happen for me

I was once in your shoes. So desperately wanting something, anything, that would end the search, that would give me answers, that would be the “thing to end all things”. I was willing to do whatever it took. I tried the psychedelics, the therapies, the healing retreats, the meditation—for 15 years I was searching.

I hear the desperation in your voice. I got so desperate that I tried the only thing I hadn’t tried all those years: sincerely praying to Jesus and asking him to show me the truth.

So on the other side of all that I can tell you you that the only thing who can truly satisfy the human soul is the one who created it.

Cold approach if you want to be enlightened like Eckhart Tolle

Just search on the Internet.  There is thriving enlightenment industry that will accept your dollars.  Capitalism has heard your need and is willing to fill it.

@Jodistrict thanks for taking the time to look down onto other people. Is there a legit place where you will be forced to reach enlightenment

Trying to outsource inner work is the biggest mistake.

If you are genuinely not motivated enough to do the hard work, then maybe it's just not for you.

You should be burning on the inside with desire. You should be willing to sacrifice yourself. You should be willing to lose everything.

This is not a joke. You must have the desire for it. Truly. Otherwise, it won't work and you're wasting your time.

If you can't get yourself together, then just go home, watch Netflix or something.

Then just do psychedelics, everyday for a month.

@Jirh Yeah, I mean I've heard a lot of this motivation talk but frankly because I have an ego I think it would be best if I was forced to meditate instead of trying to keep myself accountable- many more pitfalls with the latter
