You have theoretical immortality not actual biological immortality. No that's not what that means, a clone with no consciousness is not really a human it's biological vessel much like a plant.

@LordFall you are a plant right now that has the capability of neural network that form identity and therefore self reflection. The clone will have the same system and conciousness as you. You cant cut conciousness out of the system. You can make it brain dead so it can't self reflect on the pain but it will still feel pain.

A baby has a brain. No I am not a plant I am a human. Let's use actual science to talk about scientific breakthroughs otherwise I'm not sure exactly what we're discussing.

Yamanaka has already proved that epigenetics can reverse aging of individual cells. It can't be done with full humans yet but the code to making us biologically immortal has been there the whole time. I do believe it was nature's ultimate vision for humanity.

What Bryan is doing is not cloning himself to harvest organs from a baby, I already debunked this. No cloned babies will be harmed. He is cloning his cells in a petri dish to implant back into his body. 

Turning off your neural network means brain death, I don't know what you're trying to say with that.

Your neural network does not shut off when taking psychedelics lol, the actual opposite happens and it fires even more strongly and floods your brain with more dopamine while temporarily suppressingthe Default Mode Network (DMN) as well dramatically increasing overall functional connectivity across the rest of the brain.

 I already told you his phrasing is outrage marketing.

Billionaires don't have that much power, the economy itself is more powerful than even many billionaires put together. It's macroeconomics aiming towards post scarcity that will free mankind from labor. 

What is manly about dying? It's literally your whole body and life falling apart, it's the opposite of life and pure weakness.

By "face death like a man," do you mean watch your cognitive faculties degrade, your prostate swell, your joints calcify, and your organs collapse into systemic failure while needing nurses to change your diapers?

Bryan Johnson, David Sinclair and other people like them will save us all from this fate. They are heros. I'll take being 30 in 200 years over using spirituality to deal with my body collapsing in every single way imaginable, you're free to do whatever you want but I bet you will take the magic bullet too when it comes out.

For everyone, it is. But I’m sure you could genuinely become passionate about extending life. With Bryan, I feel like it isn’t even purely about becoming immortal. It seems more like a passion project he keeps pursuing.

The man has done quite a lot of psychedelics and is probably at peace with death.

I think everything is ego, ultimately. Even praising the opposite idea, that death is fine and inevitable, can be an ego-based coping mechanism used to justify itself.

If you were to live for the next 500 years, maybe that would also make you a more conscious person who cares about sustaining a better planet for yourself. In that case, the ego could create a more positive outcome.
