What leisure activities do you practice.

Im 49, I wonder who's the oldest person here lol

One thing i love doing for leisure is simply to go chill in a coffee shop. I seem to trip on that vibe of being around a lot of people. My wife is the opposite, she can hardly go into a mall.

I know people who are friends that are over 85 years old.

No.  In real life. I don't know who most of you are on this forum.

Should be good fun.

(I'll only travel to America again when Trump's gone. Don't want to be stopped at the airport and sent to a Haitian prison by mistake.)

I like Leo.  I've been following him since 2014.

Yeah, and the retreat might actually be actualized.org's first public event.

It's an lowkey an excellent question; the gorila is more muscular probably smarter and partially biped, but the bear have strong claws and bite.

A large bear like a grizzly or a polar bear would decimate a gorilla. Bears are evolved to fight and kill other animals unlike gorillas. Gorillas are pretty overrated tbh. They already get preyed upon by leopards.

Holy ChatGPT says the grizzly weighs a few tens of kilos more than the silverback.

If the silverback takes steroids and does MMA he stands a chance.

@Schizophonia good thread idea.

Every couple years I move cities. Ever since getting a university degree in geology, I've made a ritual of exploring all the local river beds and mountains in the city I lived in. I've done this in New York, Arizona, Virginia, Utah, and now Korea. Even Alaska and Mongolia a bit. I take a notebook and a compass, and try to make sense of the environment from scratch. It's so fun! Will share photos soon

Also, learning Mandarin. Just starting but know about a dozen expressions. It's a fulfilling project.

I like nature too

They look powerful to us because they look like giant strongmen, but compared to apex predators their best defense is being a harder catch than alternatives. They are preyed upon by leopards and crocodiles, which are a fraction of their size. They are not built to fight and kill other species.

Who are your favorite rappers or hip hop acts?

I love both the self-aware and ignorant-ass sides of rap.

The first type is to experience the state of awe of the art. Some original rhyme schemes, fresh flows, and unexpected metaphors give me more dopamine than any other art form. My favorite rappers from this camp are J. Cole, Kendrick, Griselda, Freddie Gibbs, and etc.

When it comes to ignorant-ass rap, I listen to it to get hyped, inspired or motivated. In other words, this type of rap is for a different kind of dopamine lol. In this category, I like such rappers as Dave East, lil baby, or Wacotron.

You like you some bars too?

I don’t really like leisure if something doesn’t advance my goals it feels like a waste of time. I mostly enjoy fantasy shows and anime and I use it as visualization and an education in history. Been getting into historical dramas recently, Rome HBO is sweet and so is the Tudor’s. House of the dragon as well.

Rise of the shield hero is a sweet anime I’m watching rn. Harem lifestyle and saving the world, what’s not to like.

How is this post just me acting out my ego in the usual ways? Is this post just me venting and justifying my selfishness? Are the things you are posting in alignment with principles of higher consciousness and higher stages of ego development? Are you acting in a mature or immature way? Are you being selfish or selfless in your communication? Are you acting like a monkey or like a God-like being?

Talking about ideas with friends that can potentially change the world.

Leisure is a concept that was invented for the working class originally as an escape route to work which by comparison was and is often viewed as a prison by most.

So much of what we believe to be 'leisure' is of course then, just market segmentation of types of relaxation, or what workforce ideology would call 'laziness' on the job, or 'higher status'; it'll be seen as more and more bizarre overtime as we look back.

I express this brief point because to truly live your life in the personal development sense, its so important to foster relationships with open minded people where you can expand each other's reference frame on reality. In doing so, like what happens between two close friends in high-school or primary school, even if its as a mirror to whatever major cultural interest you have from Pokemon to Star Wars, you develop your own niche (cultural) language for how you view the world.

These relationships, especially if they are group based, have always been a protective layer to whatever else is happening in the world where the more sophisticated the group is, the more the relationship between ones group and the world adapts to what is genuinely meaningful.

This really changes the meaning vocabulary of what it means to be in integrity with the meanings we pursue in life when we have friendships where that is at the heart and mind of conversations that steer relationships. When control over the locus of meaning to self and the location of meaning to group in the context of co-created meaning can be taken back, 'leasure' then becomes a 'trust currrency' within group dynamics. Where whatever we do together is not a subject of what is going to just bring leisure, but what is genuinely going to foster closer and more meaningful relationships. In the business world, 1960's it was various sports, 1980's golf took off more, 1990-2000's drugs took off more (with 1960's of course in the general sense) along with charity events for more elite (and apparently sacrificial ceremonies of human babies?), and now we're heading into the consolidation of the 2010 era that first began entrepreneurship, where "Founder Consciousness", and variations of this, is now a thing that one can foster as its own closeknit consciousness, we called them "inner circles".

When most of the positive emotions of our human experience can be mapped over our social interactions, that is when real meaning, real change, and real leisure, all happens simultaneously. That's my approach whether I am with people or not, I don't watch Netflix, play video games or anything like this really unless its just as a sport for a specific period of experimental time. This is in the general sense, otherwise specific relationships cater to specific subroutines, like I grew up playing tennis, music, gym, running and martial arts with certain friendships, relationships in general and family relationships having different patterns. These are all 'meaning ecosystems' that feed our sense of self <-> social <-> reality... Leisure. All of which are far more interesting for us to contemplate, get feedback on and build in new ways than we realise.

Best.
