Let’s Take Looksmaxxing Seriously

I’ve noticed that looksmaxxing and a sort of determinism world view has taken over the male zeitgeist at least on the internet in the USA and idk I think they do get it right in the sense that’s looks and appearance do matter and increase your attractiveness. Being overweight and leaving obvious changes on the table like better clothes, barber, skincare, etc hurts you. 

My problem with it is I think it’s ultimately for losers cause it leans far too hard into a determinist mindset. It doesn’t build tenacity or any of the inner stuff PUA did. That’s what was so good about PUA and classic game and all the self help men material when I was young. It put more emphasis on qualities and character that would carry you through life and set you up better mentally. Teaching you to face your fears and not give a shit what other people think about you. These are age old lessons. 

This current trend is weird and I’m seeing it permeate out on social media pretty hard. A lot of people are leaning into it and really prioritizing looks and appearance. Again, not bad but I think it shows a deeper lack of understanding. I predict we will be left with a seriously jaded shell of a generation in 5-10 years when everyone has looksmaxxed and finds themselves woefully unprepared to handle what else life and dating throws at you.

Prioritizing looks is perfectly irresponsible because it absolves the man from doing the truly difficult work of building inner game.

Getting surgery is easy compared to learning game. That's why lookmaxxing sells so well. It sells like Ozempic for fat people.
