Portugal can definitely do it (I think they have a better team than Argentina), but the guy is... 41, I think. His level of performance in games like these remains to be seen. He missed a few clear chances in a friendly yesterday.

That’s the whole point .why should he play if he is 41? The only reason is to equalize Messi. Would he play if he won the last one? He’s just a finisher right now . He can’t do anything else . He only plays to equalize Messi in the WC and retire after he hits the 1000+ goals Messi is getting close to his number he is 950+ goals now .

With so many teams and the guarantee of the best eight third-place finishers advancing, the 'real' tournament starts in the round of 32.

I don't think that's the main reason at all. Obviously he wants to win the tournament.

If he can be an effective striker and score one of the three or four chances he gets, then that's enough.

How many goals can you score in this cup? Five would already be a fairly decent amount.

And the current Portugal coach is going to start with him in the lineup all the games and never substitute him. Unlike the 2022 cup he sat on the bench and never started in the lineup .  I wish him winning man . But if we set aside emotions it’s very unlikely that he’ll.

I bet on Brazil

Vinícius Júnior ..Neymar ..Raphinha..Endrick… and Martinelli  . That’s a crazy attack man . Imagine if Rodrigo was available

Imagine being the coach who benchs him from the start. He'll likely sub him off often, though.

But seriously, even without Ronaldo, Portugal is a serious contender. I don't really mind the player. They just have such a solid team.

Brazil plays today, in a few hours, I think. Against Morocco. This match could easily be one of the semifinals.
